Zach recently took the time to tell us abit about what Draft Day was like to him.
McKeen's: How was the pre draft interviews with the various NHL teams, and
did you feel nervous going into them?
Parise: The pre draft interviews went really well. I was nervous for the first one and then it seemed like all of them were the same.
McKeen's: Who came with you to Nashville for the Draft?
Parise: Family and a few friends.
McKeen's: What was it like for you in the final days and hours leading up to the NHL Draft in Nashville?
Parise: The nerves built up as the time winded down before the draft and time went by really slowly.
McKeen's: What was the feeling having to wait around to be selected?
Parise: It was very frustrating waiting around that long and it seemed like an eternity.
McKeen's: What was your first thoughts when you heard your name called?
Parise: I had a feeling when Jersey traded that I would go there and then
after the name was called it was all a blur.
McKeen's: What were your feelings putting on the New Jersey Devils jersey?
Parise: It was a tremendous honor to wear the jersey of the defending
Stanley Cup champs.
McKeen's: How do you feel about getting the chance to play for New Jersey and what do you think you will bring to the team in the future?
Parise: I am very excited and I hope I can bring to them what I have brought
to all of the teams I have played for such as putting some points on the board.
We'd like to thank Zach Parise for taking the time to talk with him and we wish him the best of luck for the future.
