Has since been traded to Lethbridge .. played on a line of Luke Hunter and Barry Horman .. deadly accurate wrist shot .. played the point on a four-on-three power play .. tremendous vision and has elite playmaking skills that were generally wasted on a young Bronco's club .. displayed a bit of spunk when need be .. got the odd double shift centering a line .. can be caught flat footed and forced to try and reach for the puck .. shows patience on the powerplay .. must guard against staying on the periphery .. dished out a nice hit along the wall, but generally isn't very physical.
Kris Russell (2005), D, Medicine Hat
Slick skating, offensively gifted blueliner will take the opportunity to carry the puck out of his zone .. supports the puckcarrier .. helps his defensive partner by subtly obstructing the forechecker .. keeps his head up when stickhandling .. smooth strides and elite mobility .. doesn't hesitate to shoot .. played the man well and forced him wide, however, sloppily took the player down and received a penalty .. takes the pass effortlessly and is very good at moving the puck up on a breakout .. has to be careful about hanging on to the puck a bit too long as he got forced in to a few turnovers .. works hard in the dirty areas .. uses terrific positioning to make up for a lack of overpowering size and strength .. very versatile as he can play either point effectively .. uses his stick to force mistakes.
Dustin Boyd (Cgy), C, Moose Jaw
Moves the puck quickly and crisply, especially on the powerplay .. keeps himself moving and gets open to make sure his teammates are able to send him the puck .. plays on both special teams .. skilled on the faceoff and will tie up the opposing center off the draw .. supports the puckcarrier .. strong lower body allows him to get a good jump as well as fending off checkers .. drives to the goal without hesitation .. failed to bang home a point blank chance as he flubbed the shot .. will look for the open man .. tremendous overall speed and mobility.
Kris Versteeg (Bos), RW, Lethbridge
Will drop down in front of a slap shot and is able to do it correctly .. cuts down time and space on the penalty-kill .. dished out a sweet cross ice, tape-to-tape pass to gain the offensive zone .. supremely mobile, with quick bursts of speed to pressure the puckcarrier .. keeps his feet moving away from the puck .. very good stickhandler .. uses his quickness to gain position instead of trying overpower a defender.
Troy Brouwer (Chi), RW, Moose Jaw
Drives to the net looking for garbage .. strong on his skates .. will cycle the puck behind the net to keep the pressure on the defense and then peel out to the front for the pass .. displays a willingness to pay the price to go to the dirty areas .. has very good vision and uses his teammates effectively .. not blessed with elite strength, but keeps his feet moving to help negate the opposition trying to block him out of the dirty areas .. knows how to find the holes in the defensive coverage .. is an elusive skater with nice mobility, although his stride isn't the prettiest .. comes back to support the defense.
Ashton Rome (Bos), RW, Moose Jaw
Has since been traded to Red Deer .. wears an A .. played the left side .. communicates with his teammates .. took the faceoff on the pk and won it easily .. came back hard to support the defense .. while getting nailed behind the net in the defensive zone he coughed up the puck right to the opposition in the slot .. once again turned over the puck in a bad location .. got out to the point and blocked the shot without having to go down .. counted on to play in all situations .. received an elbowing penalty away from the play .. supports the puckcarrier .. forced a turnover behind the net in the offensive zone while killing a penalty.
