WHL: Tomas the Tank

Adrian Van de Mosselaer (2009), D, Edmonton
Large bodied blueliner boasts a solid 6-foot-2, 215-pound frame .. was passed over in the NHL Entry Draft last season .. not bad with the puck, however he can be pressured in to key turnovers .. moves reasonably well for his size, but is surprisingly easy to get hit off balance .. lacks above average acceleration and vision .. can appear a tad sluggish when an opponent makes him turn .. doesn't show much touch with the puck .. Van de Mosselaer's stickhandling and decision making gets him in trouble .. will pinch in from the point on occasion .. partnered with Tyler Hlookoff .. sees time on the penalty kill .. selected by Medicine Hat Tigers in the seventh round (138th overall) in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft. (35gp, 3-12-15)

Mark Pysyk (2010), D, Edmonton
Won a Silver medal with Team Pacific at the recent U-17 World Hockey Challenge (7gp, 1-0-1) .. a sturdy 6-foot-1, 175-pounder that moves extremely well and looks absolutely effortless when going in any direction .. dishes crisp, hard passes that are usually delivered to a teammates' sweet spot .. does a nice job slowing the puckcarrier on the one-on-one .. sports the speed to jump up in to the play, while still being able to recover after a turnover and get back on defence .. powerplay time is reduced due in part to Edmonton using a forward on the point at times .. makes long tape-to-tape breakout passes .. boasts a nice one-timer from the point .. will take a hit to make a play .. sports a biting slap shot, but doesn't use it enough .. partnered with Brandon Lockerby .. sees time on the penalty-kill .. selected by the Oil Kings in the first round (3rd overall) of the 2007 WHL Bantam Draft. (40gp, 3-11-14)
Tomas Vincour (2009), RW, Edmonton
Played for Team Czech Republic at the recent WJC in Ottawa and produced three assists in six games .. extremely well built 6-foot-2, 205-pound winger .. blessed with a heavy wrist shot .. displays good hockey sense and can deliver the pass to where the player will be .. still needs to show more determination without the puck and especially when on defence .. uses his stick effectively to create turnovers .. showcases splendid patience when in the scoring area .. has the strength to fend off checkers and still make a play .. doesn't shy away from traffic, yet doesn't really try to initiate contact .. likely has the ability to play the cycle given his size and hands .. takes the pass smoothly at top speed .. boasts the ability to slip behind the coverage and get one-on-one with the goalie .. has been known to try and awkwardly block the odd shot .. not great at keeping his feet moving in his zone .. too often leaves you wanting more and would likely drive coaches crazy with his lack of fire .. played on a line with Brent Raedeke and Jeff Lee.
