WHL: Tochkin Heads

Kellan Tochkin (2009), RW, Everett
Smallish winger is listed at 5-foot-9, 176-pounds, yet looks fairly solidly built .. selected by the Silvertips in the first round (13th overall) of the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft .. has really racked up the points since Kyle Beach's return as he has had multiple points in four of the last five games .. effortless shot .. skates smoothly in to the pass and can receive it and not break stride .. will go to the net without the puck .. very mobile and uses his quickness to close gaps on the puckcarrier .. tends to stay out of the dirty areas until the puck arrives .. lacks a powerful stride and has some difficulty fighting through heavy traffic .. plays on the powerplay .. when he keeps his feet moving he displays nice elusiveness .. as mentioned he has had success on Beach's line along with Daniel Bartek, but that also tends to inflate his offensive production. Ryan White (2009), RW, Everett
Chosen by the 'Tips in the seventh round (139th overall) of the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft .. another height challenged forward, but with a good sized frame at 5-foot-9, 195-pounds .. played on a line with Paul Van de Velde and Jesse Burt, but has played in just over half the teams 11 games so far .. gets in quickly on the forecheck thanks to above average foot speed and mobility .. boasts a fairly active stick .. lacks the top end skill to be considered an elite prospect so it is unlikely that he will hear his name called come the NHL Entry Draft.
