WHL: Spokane Plays Schell Game

The Spokane Chiefs might not have any blue-chip prospects eligible for the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, but that doesn't mean they don't have some nice prospects including the Atlanta Thrashers' Brad Schell.
Gustav Engman, D, (2004)

Fluid skater .. uses the boards well to clear the zone .. solid on his skates .. needs to get stronger as he doesn’t get much on his shots .. good overall speed and decent mobility .. on penalty kill .. took a late interference PIM.
Ned Lukacevic, LW, (2004)
Has a heavy wrist shot .. got bodied off the puck by a stiff check .. scored a power play goal from just off to the left of the crease .. tremendous top end speed and mobility which allows him to close on the puck carrier .. makes solid contact when taking the body.
Jeff Lynch, LW, (2004)
One of three brothers on the Chiefs .. can pick the corners when allowed time and space .. on the PK .. took a two minute penalty for checking from behind .. above average mobility and overall speed which he used effectively to help his team kill a two man disadvantage .. knows how to shift gears to beat opponents.
Brad Schell, C, (Atl)
Wears an A .. explosive slap shot and equally impressive wrist shot .. drilled a pass through some bodies and right on the tape of his linemate for a scoring chance .. on both special teams .. not opposed to mixing it up a bit after the whistle .. took a PIM for interference .. takes his man defensively .. took another penalty, this time for tripping .. makes the transition from defense to offense with ease .. played the point on a 5 on 3 advantage .. distributes the puck to open teammates .. smooth stick handler.
Jevon Desautels, LW, (Wsh)
Devastated a forward with a clean open ice hit that left the player wobbly .. uses his strength to bull his way through checks .. played on the power play, where he was most valuable parking himself right in front of the net .. just missed a loose puck for a glorious scoring chance .. average speed and mobility, but lacks first step quickness.
Jim Watt, G, (2004)
Quick glove hand .. communicates with his defensemen .. displays his focus, by soaking up most pucks in his general vicinity .. usually dependable about allowing few rebounds .. failed to bailout his defense who made a poor play by compounding it by allowing a weak goal to beat him .. received an undisciplined tripping penalty .. excellent at picking up the long shot through a crowd.
