WHL Report: Moose Jaw and Brandon

McKeen's has notes on several Moose Jaw Warriors including defenseman Morgan Rielly, who is currently ranked fourth in our NHL Draft Rankings for 2012. Brandon Wheat Kings forward Tyrel Seaman and teammate Ryan Pulock who is already gaining attention for 2013 are also featured.
Morgan Rielly (2012), D, Moose Jaw Warriors

Rielly was the best defenseman on the ice this game .. played in all situations, including the powerplay and penalty-kill . Rielly was at his best when the puck was on his stick, and he was hungry for the puck the entire game .. constantly created scoring opportunities in the offensive zone by pinching in, although he did occasionally get caught out of position .. however, he would always hustle back and more times than not catch the opposing team before they got a shot off .. Rielly's poise and patience really stood out .. has a strong and accurate slapshot that he fired off a couple times on the powerplay .. Rielly also played a physical game and threw a handful of hard hits throughout the game.
Travis Brown (2012), D, Moose Jaw Warriors
Brown plays somewhat of a shutdown role for the Warriors .. spent some time on the penalty-kill and was matched up against the Wheat Kings' top forward lines .. played a very physical game, consistently finishing his bodychecks .. Brown's speed was average at best .. he could keep up with the speed of the game, but he didn't have enough speed to increase the tempo or beat opponents one-on-one .. offensively, Brown often rushed passes and didn't show a lot of patience with the puck on his stick .. he does have a hard slapshot and a hard accurate wristshot though.
Tanner Eberle (2012), W, Moose Jaw Warriors
Eberle started the game off by taking a bad penalty in the first ten minutes .. he seemed a little nervous in the first period, as he rushed passes and seemed uneasy with the puck on his stick .. started to get going in the second and third period .. he took a couple strong accurate wristshots on net, and he went hard to the net with the puck a couple of times .. showed impressive speed, but he was weak along the boards.
Tyrel Seaman (2012), W, Brandon Wheat Kings
Seaman took a lot of hits and threw a lot of hits throughout the game .. he never was afraid to get into the dirty areas of the ice, but he often would lose puck battles in the corners .. showed a lack of patience with the puck .. he iced it a couple times where he had time to carry it or make a pass .. received some icetime on the penalty-kill .. at times, he would make the mistake of leaving the designed box to chase the puck .. didn't show a whole lot throughout the game, as he was nearly invisible for the most part., but finished the game with one assist.
Ryan Pulock (2013), D, Brandon Wheat Kings
Pulock's was easily the Wheat Kings best defenceman and was one of the best players on the ice in this showing .. his positioning was superb, and he anticipated plays well .. he was also arguably the best skater on the ice .. took long smooth strides and had excellent speed .. quarterbacked the Wheat Kings powerplay .. showed patience with the puck and has a cannon of a slapshot .. is also able to get it low for tip-ins, which lead to a goal in the second period .. has the potential to be a first round pick in the 2013 NHL Enrty Draft.
