WHL: Prince Albert Prospects

Blaine Tendler (2008), D, Prince Albert
His first few steps aren't as smooth as you'd like to see and he lacks an elite top gear .. sometimes gets drawn towards the puck carrier when he should be looking for the open man .. fairly accurate with the cross ice pass .. saw more time as the season went along and was on for both special teams .. won't shy away from going back for the puck even when he'll take a hit .. doesn't force a point shot through .. is very alert on the ice .. Like many young defender can be pressured in to turnovers .. given his 2008 draft year, he still has time, but skating improvement should be a top priority. (49gp, 0-13-13)

Cody Vann (2007), D, Prince Albert
His slap shot really explodes off of his stick .. isn't a devastating hitter, but will rub guys out along the boards .. a solid fighter that doesn't possess the quickest fists, but can still sting an opponent when he gets them with an upper cut .. plays on the penalty-kill .. has some difficulties reading the play and tends to get a bit mesmerized by the puck .. sometimes holds on to the puck too long which can lead to turnovers. (63gp, 0-5-5)
Cody Gross (2007), C, Prince Albert
Uses his body well to buy the point man time after he wins a draw .. plays on the powerplay .. a ways to go before he can be called a legitimate pro prospect. (55gp, 6-5-11)
Andy Smith (2007), C, Prince Albert
Mobile, swift skating pivot that can slice through the defence when he's at full speed .. comes back all the way to support the defense .. moves the puck well .. looks to pass to the open man in the scoring area .. doesn't get overly involved physically, choosing more to use an active stick to close down time and space .. has some trouble cleanly taking a high velocity pass .. doesn't possess elite hands .. a regular on the powerplay. (69gp, 17-16-33)
Justin Palazzo (2007), D, Prince Albert
Takes his man well on the one-on-one .. displays a nasty streak and doesn't mind getting his nose dirty sticking up for a teammate .. delivers a decent headman pass, but still must improve the crispness .. closes down shooting lanes on the penalty-kill .. takes a hit to make a play .. communicates with his teammates .. pretty strong strides once he gets moving .. hits with authority and can lay opponents out that go down his side with their head down. (55gp, 2-2-4)
