WHL Players of the Month - September / October

Calgary - The Western Hockey League today announced the Player of the Month for September / October in both the Eastern Conference and Western Conference.
In the Western Conference, the Player of the Month is centre Erik Christensen of the Kamloops Blazers.

The 1983 born Christensen from Leduc, Alberta scored 11 goals and 30 points in 16 games. He also recorded four power-play goals and one short-handed goal along with a plus eight rating. Christensen is tied for first in WHL scoring. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Eastern Conference
In the Eastern Conference, which includes the East and Central Divisions, the Player of the Month is goaltender Todd Ford of the Swift Current Broncos.
The 1983 born goaltender from Calgary, Alberta, recorded a 1.96 goals against average and a 0.921 save percentage in 11 games which is second in the League in both categories. He has seven wins, two losses and two ties including two shutouts which is tied for first in the WHL.
Ford was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Erik Christensen and Todd Ford are deserving choices as the Western Hockey League’s Players of the Month for September / October.
