WHL Player of the Week - Justin Gutierrez

Calgary, AB - The Western Hockey League announced today that Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Justin Gutierrez has been named the WHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 29th, 2015.
Gutierrez recorded six points (6g-0a) in three games to lead the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a record of 3-0-0-0 for the week.

On Thursday, November 26th against the Kootenay ICE, Gutierrez scored his sixth goal of the season to help lead the Hurricanes to a 9-0 win. The following night against the Brandon Wheat Kings, Gutierrez netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the Hurricanes' 4-2 win. Gutierrez was named the game's first star for his efforts. On Saturday, November 28th, Gutierrez capped off a productive week by recording a hat-trick against the Kootenay ICE in their 3-2 victory. Gutierrez earned first star honours on Saturday for the second consecutive night.
The 19-year-old Anchorage, AK native has collected 23 points (11g-12a) in 26 games this season. The 6-4, 200 lb forward is in his fourth WHL campaign with Lethbridge and has amassed 82 points (29g-53a) in 212 career WHL regular season contests.
The WHL has also nominated Carter Hart of the Everett Silvertips for the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week award. Hart, a 1998-born netminder from Sherwood Park, AB, posted a record of 3-0-0-0 with a 0.33 goals against average and a .985 save percentage with two shutouts. On Wednesday, November 25th, Hart turned aside 26 shots to pick up the shutout against the Tri-City Americans in a 5-0 defeat. The following night, Hart continued his consistent play as he stopped 14 shots to guide the Silvertips to a 5-0 shutout over the Moose Jaw Warriors. On Sunday, November 29th against the Spokane Chiefs, Hart was solid as he stopped 25 shots to lead the Silvertips to a 5-1 victory and claim second star honours.
Currently in his second season with the Silvertips, Hart has posted a 32-12-2-6 record with 10 shutouts in 54 career WHL regular season appearances. So far this season, Hart has recorded six shutouts through 22 games to go along with a 14-6-0-2 record and a 1.61 goals against average.
