WHL Player of the Week - Jake DeBrusk

CALGARY, AB - The Western Hockey League announced today that Swift Current Broncos forward Jake DeBrusk is the Denny's WHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 22nd, 2015.
DeBrusk collected eight points (4g-4a) in three games to help the Swift Current Broncos earn a pair of wins and clinch a 2015 WHL Playoff berth.

On Tuesday, March 17th against the Moose Jaw Warriors, DeBrusk scored a goal in a 6-2 defeat. On Friday, March 20th, DeBrusk notched a hat trick and added an assist to cap off a four-point night against the Lethbridge Hurricanes in a 5-3 victory. The following night, DeBrusk tallied three assists to lead the Broncos to a 6-2 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes and clinch third place in the East Division.
The 18-year-old Edmonton, Alberta native gathered 81 points (42g-39a) while playing in all 72 games this season. The 6'0", 177 lb forward is in his second WHL campaign with the Swift Current Broncos. DeBrusk has amassed 120 points (57g-63a) in 144 career WHL regular season contests and was ranked 24th amongst North American skaters in the 2015 NHL Central Scouting midterm rankings.
The WHL has also nominated Marek Langhamer of the Medicine Hat Tigers for the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week award. Langhamer, a 1994-born netminder from Moravska Trebova, Czech Republic, registered a 1.13 goals against average and a .951 save percentage, while winning all three of his starts this past week. On Wednesday, March 18th, Langhamer stopped 27 shots to earn a 6-2 win against the Prince Albert Raiders. On Friday, March 20th, Langhamer turned aside 21 shots to lift the Tigers to a 3-1 win against the Saskatoon Blades. The following night, Langhamer stopped all 10 shots he faced in two periods of play against the Saskatoon Blades en route to the team's 6-2 win. Currently in his third campaign with the Medicine Hat Tigers, Langhamer has posted a 68-42-4-3 record with six shutouts in 120 career WHL regular season appearances.
