WHL Player of the Week

Calgary - The Greyhound WHL Player of the Week is forward Nigel Dawes of the Kootenay Ice. Dawes earned player of the week honours by recording seven goals in three games, including two power-play goals, a short-handed goal and a game-winning goal during the week of November 10th to November 16th.
On Tuesday, November 11th, Dawes scored both goals for the Ice in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Wheat Kings in Brandon. On Wednesday, November 12th, Dawes recorded a natural hat-trick in a 6-4 loss against the Warriors in Moose Jaw.

On Sunday, November 16th, Dawes scored both goals in a 2-1 victory against the visiting Portland Winter Hawks.
Dawes, an 18-year-old from Winnipeg, Manitoba, was drafted by the New York Rangers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
Honorable mention goes to Tomas Fleischmann of the Moose Jaw Warriors and Jeremy Williams of the Swift Current Broncos.
