WHL Player of the Month

Calgary - The Western Hockey League today announced that Kelly Guard of the Kelowna Rockets has been named the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for September / October.
The 20-year-old goaltender from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan recorded eight wins, five losses and one tie, including an incredible five shutouts during the month of September/October. Guard also recorded a shutout string of three consecutive games and 216 minutes.

Guard recorded a miniscule goals against average of 1.50, a .926 save percentage and allowed only 21 goals on 284 shots in 842 minutes played.
Guard, a free agent, is currently first among WHL goaltenders in goal against average and shutouts.
His accomplishments make Kelly Guard a deserving choice as the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for September / October.
