WHL: One Sharp Blazer

Kamloops Blazers' winger Tyler Shattock, who was drafted sixth overall in the 2005 WHL Bantam Draft, is projected to be a mid-round pick in next year's NHL Entry Draft. McKeen's was recently on hand to view the British Columbia native and files the following report.
Tyler Shattock (2008), RW, Kamloops Blazers
(37-9-9-18) .. Special teams player who can contribute on both the PP and PK .. his long reach makes him a formidable defender on the PK, as it allows him to cut off passing lanes and pressure the puckhandler .. however, his defensive tenacity during even strength shifts leaves a lot to be desired .. for example, his behavior is very nonchalant, as if he is just going through the motions .. he appears to be more aggressive in the attacking zone, where he utilizes his frame (6-3, 190) on the forecheck and pursues the puck more frequently .. Shattock's biggest assets are his vision and passing skills .. he sees the ice well and shows the ability to make a quality wing-to-wing pass in transition .. he is most potent around the goal, where he can be precise in setting up teammates .. obviously, these attributes are valuable on the man advantage as well.
