WHL: No Dorothy Hamill

The Everett Silvertips have yet to find a real offensive dynamo in only their second season of existence in the WHL. However, Zach Hamill shows flashes that he might be ready to take on that task as early as next season. We have notes from a recent game on Hamill and a number of his teammates, many of whom also participated at the 2005 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Lethbridge, Alberta.
Jonathan Harty (2006), D

High energy youngster listed as a defenseman, but was playing up a forward at times .. worked hard to try and drive through a checker, however lacked the strength on his skates to be successful .. displays a very effective work ethic away from the puck .. will need to add some muscle as he is too easily knocked off the puck and even off his feet .. doesn't shy away from traffic or any of the dirty areas .. has a choppy skating style .. came all the way back to pick up the trailing forward .. delivered a solid hit in front of the opposition's net while playing up .. played for the Bronze medal winning Team Atlantic at the 2005 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Lethbridge, Alberta.
Zach Hamill (2007), C
Maturing gamebreaker finds the holes in the offensive zone .. took a hooking pim .. amazingly strong on the puck for his age .. holds up the opposition center off the draw .. displays excellent vision and is a very effective stickhandler .. will come back and replace a defender that has pinched in .. has the speed and passion to beat a player one-on-one .. will pay the price to make a play and doesn't shy away from traffic .. plays on the PK and PP .. currently tied for third on the 'Tips with 26 points .. played for the Silver medal winning Team Pacific at the 2005 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Lethbridge, Alberta.
Brady Calla (2006), RW
Very good first few steps .. used a nice burst of speed and his maturing strength to fight past a defender only to draw a high sticking penalty .. keeps his feet moving on contact .. must work to improve his strength on the puck .. displays terrific pressure on the forecheck as well as terrific overall puck pursuit .. has an active stick to close down passing lanes .. plays on the PK .. only has 14 points so far this season, but is a solid plus nine .. played for the Silver medal winning Team Pacific at the 2005 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Lethbridge, Alberta.
Brennan Zasitko (2006), LW
A work in progress .. gets in on the forecheck fairly quickly .. was nailed with a devastating open ice hit .. didn't get a regular shift, but when he saw the ice it was usually with Jonathan Harty and Brady Mason on a make shift forward line .. supports the defense .. played for the Gold medal winning Team Western at the 2005 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Lethbridge, Alberta.
Taylor Ellington (2007), D
Has a decent first step .. works hard along the wall .. had a little problem corralling a puck .. pretty good overall speed and mobility .. needs to work on getting his point shot away quicker .. has yet to record a point in 29 games so far this season and is a -6.
