WHL: Lifes A Beach!

Kyle Beach (2008), RW, Everett
Talented prospect trying to overcome the perception of on and off-ice baggage .. displayed nice chemistry on Everett's top line alongside Zach Hamill and Lucas Vartovnik .. supremely confident in his own ability which allows him to try things that most players wouldn't attempt in practice let alone a game situation like lifting the puck on his stick and scooping it in to the net from behind the goal .. takes the body and usually arrives to the puck in ill humour .. possesses very good speed, although not the most elegant skater around .. boasts nice size, 6'3-205lbs., yet still could add some muscle to become even more dominant physically .. uses his long stick to force turnovers as well as keeping the puck away from checkers .. displays very good vision and uses his teammates well in the offensive zone .. not hesitant to shoot the puck from anywhere .. at his best when playing on the edge, but not going over it .. doesn't hesitate taking the puck hard to the net .. displays the ability to stickhandle through traffic .. a regular on the powerplay .. is more than willing to throw the knuckles and at his best when he uses his strength to fight through checkers. (7gp, 5-5-10)

Jared Cowen (2009), D, Spokane
Showcases splendid straight ahead speed for such a big player .. can be forced in to turnovers by tenacious checkers, as he still needs to work on protecting the puck especially in the defensive zone .. plays on both special teams .. not always on target with his passes .. skates well, displaying both good mobility and acceleration there is plenty to like in the Chiefs towering young defender, but he has work to do to improve his game especially in the defensive zone .. definitely a prospect to keep an eye on for the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. (7gp, 1-4-5)
Mitch Wahl (2008), C, Spokane
California native looked solid centering a line of Drayson Bowman and Chris Bruton .. moves well and displays good anticipation pressuring the puck and the puckcarrier on the forecheck .. takes the man well in his own zone and shows reasonable defensive awareness .. works hard on the backcheck and has the speed and mobility to stick with his man .. has cooled off with only two points in his last four games .. needs to display more imagination in the offensive zone.
(7gp, 1-5-6)
Jared Spurgeon (2008), D, Spokane
Only 5'9-170lbs, but makes up for it by being very quick, with an active stick to back off puckcarriers in the Spokane defensive zone .. boasts good feet with splendid mobility .. not surprisingly is a very speedy blueliner that excels when given time and space, however doesn't shy away from traffic .. wears an A .. will sacrifice himself to block a shot .. generally does a nice job backing up his defensive partner .. has the ability to carry the puck out of Chiefs' zone .. plays on both special teams. (7gp, 1-1-2)
