WHL: Karl Alzners Manifesto

Brett Sonne (2007), C, Calgary
Uses his linemates well .. defensively conscientious and works hard with or without the puck .. keeps his feet moving on contact .. doesn't display much offensive imagination as he mainly goes up and down the lane .. isn't blessed with elite hands, yet knows where to go without the puck and will show enough determination to venture in to the dirty areas and get scoring chances .. lacks elite vision and blazing speed, however still seems to be able to step his play up when it matters most.

Karl Alzner (2007), D, Calgary
Amazingly is already a stabilizing force on backend for the Hitmen .. wears an A .. gets a good push out of the blocks .. moves the puck smoothly at the point .. communicates well with his teammates .. delivers crisp, accurate headman passes to clear the zone .. closes the gaps well on the puckcarrier .. is able to use his body effectively to ward off checkers .. reads the play exceptionally well for his age .. not as flashy as Ellerby, but appears more pro ready at this stage of their careers .. a mainstay on both special teams .. will pinch in from the point on occasion .. must work on his shots from the point as too often they don't make it through.
Dan Spence (2007), G, Calgary
Usually does a nice job maintaining position on the short side .. displays very good agility moving around inside the crease .. not the biggest netminder around, but generally is able to swallow up shots thanks to his ability to stay square to the shooter .. redirects shots out of harms' way .. has a tendency to get caught napping on occasion as he doesn't come out far enough to cut down the angle or get over quickly enough on the wraparound.
