WHL Goalie of the Month - Mackenzie Skapski

CALGARY, AB. - The Western Hockey League announced today that Mackenzie Skapski, of the Kootenay Ice, has been named the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for February.
The 18 year-old goaltender from Abbotsford, BC, posted a 9-2-0-0 record with four shut-outs through February. Skapski's brilliant 1.27 goals-against average led all WHL goaltenders (minimum 300 minutes played) while posting a 0.956 save percentage, allowing just 14 goals on 318 shots-against in 660 minutes played. His efforts also earned him a Three Star selection seven times, with two being 1st Stars.

Skapski currently ranks 12th among all WHL goaltenders with a 2.66 goals-against average and a 0.913 save-percentage, in 59 games-played thus far this season. His consistent play helped the Ice to a sizzling 9-2-0-0 record in February and currently sit eighth in the WHL Eastern Conference with a 33-30-2-0 record for 68 points.
His accomplishments make Mackenzie Skapski a deserving choice as the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for February.
