WHL Goalie of the Month - Cody Porter

CALGARY, AB - The Western Hockey League announced today that Cody Porter of the Vancouver Giants has been named the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for December 2014.
A 17-year-old from North Vancouver, B.C., Porter posted a 3-0-1-0 record over four appearances in December. He only allowed five goals on 104 shots faced for a 1.25 goals against average and a .954 save percentage, including one shutout. Porter started four of the Giants' nine games, holding the opposition to two goals or fewer on three occasions.

Porter's outstanding play helped the Giants to a 7-1-1-0 record through December. The 6'2", 188 lb netminder earned two second star honours as well as one third star selection in December. In addition, he was nominated for the Vaughn CHL Goaltender of the Week award (December 15th - December 28th).
Porter is in his first WHL campaign with the Vancouver Giants and has posted a 6-6-1-0 record with two shutouts in 19 career regular season contests.
His accomplishments make Cody Porter a deserving choice as the VAUGHN WHL Goaltender of the Month for December.
