WHL: Fiery Ferraro

Mike Scarborough (2008), D, Red Deer
6-foot-1, 208-pound blueliner displays very good mobility with or without the puck .. must be careful about not allowing opponents to slip by along the wall .. deliver's crisp headman passes well .. sees time on the penalty-kill and some time late during power plays .. uses his stick to create turnovers .. looked alright starting the game partnered with Luke Egener, but had various partners after that .. communicating with his teammates and will buy his partner time without taking a penalty .. at his best when he keeps his feet moving, unfortunately he does forget at times and can be beaten when he plants his feet .. fairly solid on his skates and will take a hit to make a play. (24gp, 1-1-2)

Zak Stebner (2008), D/F, Red Deer
Red Deer's 6-foot-3, 190-pounder might be a bit too versatile for his own good as the coaching staff have used him up on the forward lines .. boasts a decent wrist shot that takes off quickly off of his stick, yet rarely uses it .. not surprisingly seems a bit lost with his duties as a forward and too often looks like a defenseman playing forward .. saw time on a line with Spencer Edwards and Tyler Penny .. doesn't display much confidence with the puck .. lacks vision in the offensive zone and rarely finds himself with the puck in prime scoring areas .. is a decent skater and overall lacks much jump out of the gates. (24gp, 0-5-5)
Tomas Polak (2008), C, Red Deer
The Czech Republic native is the lone import on the Rebels this year and there are rumblings within the organization that he's not fitting in that well .. sports decent size at 6-foot-1 and is nearing 185 pounds .. seems to lack a bit of confidence and has struggled to prove himself to the Red Deer coaching staff due in part to some nagging injuries. (15gp, 2-2-4)
Mike Krgovich (2008), RW, Red Deer
Speedy 6-foot winger receives the pass smoothly .. swift skater who seems to move effortlessly on the ice and when combined with his splendid mobility he is able to put pressure on the puckcarrier .. played on a line with Brennen Wray and Willie Coetzee .. displays sold puck pursuit and isn't hesitant to enter high traffic areas .. his brain hasn't quite caught up with his feet and he has yet to show that he reads the play very well or has much vision in the offensive zone .. a regular on the penalty-kill .. displays some feistiness. (19gp, 1-1-2)
Morgan Clark (2008), G, Red Deer
The son of well-known goaltending consultant Ian Clark .. he is a bit of a twig at 5-foot-11, and only 150 pounds .. at times, he will overcommit and has trouble getting back into the play .. seems to lack the mobility to stay square .. has trouble recovering if he is forced to move in one direction .. needs to learn how to read the play better and know where the first and even the second shot might be coming from .. must be more alert with his rebound control .. doesn't show much awareness when he moves the puck .. definitely not a finished product, but there is upside here if he continues to work at his game. (GAA 3.39, Sv% 0.892)
Landon Ferraro (2009), C, Red Deer
Son of former NHLer, Ray Ferraro, displays a ton of hustle and won't hesitate getting his nose dirty to get the puck .. definitely doesn't look out of place in the offensive zone .. receives a lot of time on the power play and even time on the penalty-kill .. obviously still needs to get stronger on the puck, but already shows that the potential to be an offensive catalyst for the Rebels as soon as next season .. very mobile and boasts the top speed to beat a defender on the outside .. not afraid to take the puck to the net and even shows the confidence to try a move when he gets one-on-one with the goaltender .. does a reasonable job pushing the puck up the ice and gaining the offensive zone .. can anticipate loose pucks .. will look for the holes in the defensive coverage .. is able to use his speed and his ability to elude checks to force opponents to take penalties. (23gp, 4-7-11)
Justin Weller (2009), D, Red Deer
Has played most of the season to date with the Drayton Valley Thunder of Alberta Junior Hockey League where he has three points (1-2-3) in 14 games .. the 6-foot-2, 190 pound blueliner is being brought along slowly by Coach Brian Sutter so as not to overwhelm him and destroy his confidence .. sometimes gets caught flat-footed or watching the puck .. once he gets skating he actually shows very good feet going backwards .. looks like a player to keep an eye on for the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. (5gp, 0-0-0)
Colin Archer (2008), D, Red Deer
Was away tending to family issues. (6gp, 0-1-1)
