WHL: Common Senseman

Sean Zimmerman (2005), D
Physical defensive defenseman partnered with Scott Lynch .. picked up his man in front of the net and stopped him from getting a scoring chance .. strong on the puck and can prove he can and is willing to take a hit to make a play .. on the penalty-kill .. a physical presence and will clear the front of the crease .. must be judicious about when to jump up in the play to deliver a bone-crunching hit .. maintains good position in the defensive zone .. skates well for a big man.

Michael Senseman (2006), RW
Young winger played on a line with Chris Bruton and J.P. Szaszkiewicz .. tried to slip by along the wall, but couldn’t elude the hit and got smoked .. didn’t read the play well and failed to move the puck up to the open forward, which lead to an off-side .. had a glorious chance in front, but backhanded a shot well wide .. failed to clear the puck out of his end when he had an opportunity and it wound up in the back the net.
Adam Hobson (2005), C
Competitive draft-eligible pivot centered the top line of Ned Lukacevic and Chad Klassen .. showed some spunk going after a 20-year-old after the whistle .. played on both special teams .. supports the rush .. very effective in the face-off dot .. got in front of the net and helped cause enough of a disruption to allow his teammate to get open at the far side and pop in an easy goal .. not a tough player, but displays a ton of moxie by taking a beating in front .. sweet breakout pass to clear the zone .. doesn’t have deep threat speed that will stretch the defense, however has nice mobility and first step quickness .. nice leadership skills and seems like a real character player that will do what he can for the team.
Chris Bruton (2005), C
Centered a youthful line of Michael Senseman and J.P. Szaszkiewicz .. lost the handle while stickhandling through center ice .. drove hard to the net and drew a penalty when the defender dragged him down .. displays energy on the forecheck .. played on the PK .. good pursuit of the puck carrier .. tremendous first step quickness and good overall speed.
J.P. Szaszkiewicz (2006), LW
Played on a line with Chris Bruton and Michael Senseman .. worked hard along the boards while on the forecheck .. picks up his man on the backcheck .. quick first step and really pushes hard through first contact .. played on the penalty-kill .. bailed out going for a puck along the wall.
Myles Stoesz (2005), LW
Physical left winger played on a line with Mike Reich and Derek Ryan .. got in a fight with another youngster and although he caught a few early, he came back nicely with a few well placed shots to get the decision .. displayed a lack of discipline by spraying the goalie well after the whistle and making his team kill a penalty .. has some grit and will stir things up .. proved once again that he can throw’em by more than holding his own and trading rights with a heavyweight .. will make a puck carrier pay a price on the back check .. was caught trying to be a little too fancy stickhandling through center and got blitzed.
Mike Reich (2006), C
Centered a line of Derek Ryan and Myles Stoesz .. allowed his man to go to the net and get a scoring chance .. replaced Lukacevic on the top line for a few shifts .. was rewarded with a short shift on the powerplay late in the third period with his team basically out of it .. a poor effort in the slot lead to him turning the puck over to the opposition and it resulted in an easy goal.
Derek Ryan (2005), C
Played on a line with Mike Reich and Myles Stoesz .. picked up his man in front of the net .. defensively aware .. gets in on the forecheck quickly .. not very big and lacks some "oomph" behind his hits .. quick feet and uses his terrific mobility to get to the net .. gets out muscled at times, especially in the dirty areas .. knocked down rather easily in open ice .. got on the powerplay in the third period as a message to an underperforming PP unit.
