Wore an A .. on the penalty kill and powerplay .. smallish forward .. keeps his feet moving and is very quick .. got a crosschecking penalty .. ties up his man in the defensive end .. finishes his checks .. got an assist.
Dustin Byfuglien Prince George (WHL), D/F:
Played point on pp as well as played on the pk .. has slimmed down to 250 from a high of over 270 last season .. still poorly conditioned and given that fact should take shorter shifts .. poor acceleration, but has decent top end speed .. took the odd faceoff .. heavy shot .. gets a lot of ice time .. a dominate force when he chooses to be involved physically .. appears to be more aggressive this season compared with last year.
Colin Patterson Prince George (WHL), C:
Played Right Wing on the power play .. got an assist .. above average skater .. doesn’t have much offensive awareness backchecks hard.
Kyle Bruce Vancouver (WHL), RW:
Scored a short handed 5 on 3 goal (first in team history) .. takes a hit to make a play .. first star of the game.
Justin Pogge Prince George (WHL), G:
Looked solid in goal despite giving up four goals .. athletic and stays under control when moving from side to side .. plays big in the net .. handles the puck well .. quick feet to go along with an excellent glove .. usually is able to steer rebounds in to the corner .. big reason his team only lost 4 – 2 and was justly named second star.
