WHL: Boychuk Buoys Canes

Jesse Craige (2007), D, Lethbridge
Ranked 198th in the March Draft Rankings .. looked solid throughout the season partnered with Ben Wright .. moves nicely on his feet .. headman's the puck smoothly .. uses his stick to help back off a puck carrier, however needs to add strength to compete better in dirty areas .. will carry the puck up the ice if given the chance .. gets back quickly to recover the puck .. takes a hit to make a play .. can be dangerous with extra time and space .. still needs to display more vision and use his teammates better as too often when he rushes end to end with the puck the play kind of dies with him .. usually takes the pass well .. is a prospect in the new NHL .. boasts the top end speed to evade defensive coverage .. sees more ice when his team down a goal or two .. pretty effective on the point on the powerplay. Zach Boychuk (2008), C, Lethbridge
Smallish offensive dynamo had developed some chemistry playing alongside Mitch Fadden and Yashar Farmanara .. takes the pass at top speed and without breaking stride .. splendid hand-eye coordination .. a supremely confident stick handler .. sometimes is guilty of overhandling the puck, however has the skill to beat a defender inside and the speed to slip by on the outside .. very agile as he showcases when he is able to turn on a dime .. showed some frustration at times .. a regular on the powerplay. (69gp, 31-60-91)
Dwight King (2007), C/LW, Lethbridge
Was 156th overall in McKeen's Draft Rankings for March .. Listed as a center, but generally played the left side .. boasts a heavy slap shot that can beat a goalie or at the very least cause rebounds .. strong on the puck and is solid on his skates, unfortunately he just isn't quick enough to back off defensive coverage .. needs to use his excellent size to better use and punish defenders and drive harder to the net, although he's not shy about parking himself in front once he gets there .. doesn't possess very good puck pursuit .. uses his size and his reach to close down passing lanes on the forecheck .. when he goes to the dirty areas he is hard to knock out of his lane .. played on both special teams. (62gp, 12-32-44)
Justin Leclerc (2007), G, Lethbridge
Ranked 161st in the March Draft Rankings .. on occasion looked a tad sluggish getting back to his feet .. his glove needs work as he bobbled more than his fair share of shots .. leaves a hole in his positioning, especially in the upper corners .. doesn't react for the cross ice pass as quickly he needs to .. showcases good feet and is hard to beat low .. appears to not always know where his rebounds are going.
