WHL: Blue Diamond Almond

Tyler Myers (2008), D, Kelowna
Passes the puck crisply and on the tape .. moves his feet well for such a large player .. closes the gaps well on the puckcarrier and can deliver bonecrunching hits along the boards .. does a nice job keeping the crease clear .. should be more judicious about when to jump up in to the play for a hit, especially on the penalty kill .. sees time on the penalty-kill .. has room on his frame to add 15-20 pounds relatively easily. (53gp, 2-11-13)

Luke Schenn (2008), D, Kelowna
Showed chemistry playing along side of Clayton Barthel .. large bodied defender isn't the quickest guy out of the blocks .. wears an A .. uses a strong stick to shut down passing and shooting lanes .. hard to knock out of his area .. will carry the puck, but generally moves it quickly .. very powerful and hits with authority .. strong on his feet and is a handful in the dirty areas .. displays some poise with the puck when pressured and generally makes the smart play .. plays on both special teams. (66gp, 2-26-28)
Cody Almond (2007), C, Kelowna
Currently leads all Rockets with 37 points .. comes back to support the defense .. well built as he's listed at 6'2 and nearly 195lbs and is solid on his feet .. not a bad skater, however is far from a burner either .. doesn't display much imagination in the offensive zone and he must use his teammates better, although to be fair the team he is on is so poor they are in a dogfight to make the playoff with the expansion Chilliwack Bruins .. plays on the powerplay. (62gp, 12-25-37)
Brandon McMillan (2008), LW, Kelowna
Showcases some finesse when he tried to tip a puck by an opponent on the boards .. displays a willingness to block shots .. picks up the man in his own zone .. takes the body, although his effectiveness is somewhat limited due to a lack of strength .. does a nice job closing down time and space on the forecheck .. goes hard to the net, however still has trouble maintaining position .. needs to pickup his man quicker as he can be beaten on the outside .. mostly the result of Kelowna's lack of depth, but he doe get time on both special teams. (49gp, 2-8-10)
Torrie Jung (2007), G, Kelowna
Meets the puck at the top of the paint .. has to be careful with his rebounds as he lets a few hang around it prime scoring areas .. very agile on his feet as he can move up and down an side to side smoothly .. has to do a better job hugging the post as he got cheating .. not able to keep the openings in his positioning to a minimum .. comes across the net well and gets the pad down to take away the bottom part of the net .. has trouble taking away the top corner if he gets caught too far back in the net .. not great at picking up the shot through traffic and thus allows a few seeing-eye pucks through not ready for primetime. (5-12-4-3)
Daniel Salamandyk (2007), C, Kelowna
In his first ever action in the WHL he relieved Jung who was hung out to dry by a poor performance and played a total of 20 minutes .. looked scared as he handled shots in the crest like they were hand grenades .. very quick feet .. doesn't look too rattled finding the puck in traffic .. will challenge shooters.
