WHL: Beach Bad Boy

Kyle Beach (2008), RW, Everett
Boasts a lot of zip to his slap shot .. has nice soft hands which make him dangerous in tight spaces .. sports an air of confidence, in fact he might be one of the cockier players currently in the WHL .. played on a line with Jordan Mistelbacher and centered by Vitaly Karamnov .. very quick skater which above average mobility and burst out of the blocks .. looks comfortable playing any forward position and is solid taking faceoffs under pressure .. more than willing to dish out an elbow or a dirty hit .. reads the play well and can make a quick transition .. is a regular on the powerplay, but sees little time other than late on the penalty-kill .. has a nose for the net and goes there without the puck .. still needs to get a bit stronger on his skates .. moves the puck crisply and cleanly .. doesn't shy away from taking the body on any player .. at his best using his talent, size and edge to take others off their game .. at his worst when he goes over the edge and hurts his team and taking himself off of his game .. 6-foot-3, 205-pound wingers with skill and an edge don't grow on trees, however he will need an organization to encourage him to tone down his act so that he's not his own worst enemy. Jordan Mistelbacher (2008), LW, Everett
Nice sized winger (6-foot-2, 195-pounds) played on a line with Kyle Beach and centered by Vitaly Karamnov .. rarely holds on to the puck very long, choosing to move it quickly to a teammate .. must be careful about not forcing passes into traffic under pressure, especially in the defensive zone .. a good, but not elite skater in a straight line and boasts better than average jets out of the gate .. displays a willingness to work hard in the dirty areas .. sports pretty good awareness of his responsibilities in the Everett Silvertips' zone .. drives to the net with speed, however lacks an elite top gear to break free of checkers .. sees time on the second unit powerplay. Matt Ius (2008), RW, Everett
Sports a decent wrist shot, yet rarely gets a chance to get it away .. comes off the boards fairly quick on his forehand side, but noticeably slower on the backhand .. is a regular on the penalty-kill and not surprisingly given his meagre point total sees next to nothing on the powerplay .. played on a third line with Lukas Vartovnik and centered by Zack Dailey .. has some difficulty consistently accepting the pass smoothly .. showcases above average skating ability .. puts good pressure on the pointman when killing penalties .. sports a bit of fire to his game when provoked .. can be guilty of standing around watching the puck in his own zone if it's in deep .. rarely ever generates much if any offence and is likely destined to be a dump and chase checking winger .. shows a willingness to solidly finish his checks along the wall. (62gp, 4-4-8)
Brenden Stephen (2008), D, Everett
The Vanderhoof, BC native has gotten credit for being in five games, but it would be a surprise if he has played enough in any of those games to even have broken a sweat .. tree-sized blueliner needs to add some muscle to his slender 6-foot-7, 190-pound frame .. looks a bit stiff on the ice and his mobility will need work .. a work in progress.
