Skipped over in this years' NHL Entry Draft .. blessed with NHL size and will use it to get physically involved in front of his own net .. lacks elite poise with the puck .. must be aware of not playing the puck too much .. should be more alert with his defensive responsibilities .. he can be a tad stiff in his turns and isn't mobile enough to elude intense forechecking .. a regular on the penalty-kill. Tyson Barrie (Col), D, Kelowna

Chosen in the third round (64th overall) in this season's NHL Entry Draft by the Avalanche .. a good, not great skater that is hard to hit as he is very elusive .. not the tallest guy around, however is fairly solid on his skates .. boasts some power behind his shot .. part of the best overall defensive corpse in the Dub last season and was often on the top pair with Tyler Myers .. loves to wander from his defensive position, but is becoming a bit more selective on when to do this .. boasts good anticipation and will pinch in from the point .. skilled taking or giving the pass in tight situations .. moves quickly and reads the oncoming rush effectively .. often joins or even leads the rush .. has the talent to do a spin-o-rama with the puck in traffic and still get a scoring chance .. blessed with the poise and hands to slip through traffic .. will never be a physically imposing blueliner, yet has enough offensive attributes to overcome that .. sports elite vision and hands .. displayed nice progress from the start of the season in most areas of his game .. carries the puck nicely out of his end, while keeping his head up and still being able to move it to a forward .. pretty accurate with his shots .. played on both special teams. Stepan Novotny (2010), RW, Kelowna

Another Rocket that was passed over in the NHL Draft .. moves the puck well and is very adept at the give and go .. boasts nice size at 6'2, 195-pounds, although he rarely used this feature to get physically involved .. is very quick and has the ability to make players miss if he's moving his feet .. saw some time on the powerplay. (65gp, 19-22-41)
