Vee is For Victory

Stefan Nicholishen (2011), LW, Penticton:
Boasts a nice size frame at 6-foot-2, 215-pounds, but will still need another season or two to get stronger .. displays some jump out of the blocks and is fairly light on his feet .. still building confidence with the puck as he lacks the willingness to hang on to it an extra second for a play to open up .. must get more involved physically as he nears his draft year as he tends to be on the perimeter .. played on a line with Hayden Trupp and Adam Zamec .. being brought along slowly by the Vees, which seems to be the right thing for Nicholishen as he matures .. committed to Nebraska-Omaha for the 2011 season. Isaac Macleod (2010), D, Penticton:
Knock-kneed giant is still growing in to his 6-foot-4, 205-pound frame, although to be honest the listed weight is inflated and he could easily be 20 pounds lighter .. although he is willing to charge head long in to the play with the puck, he doesn't show much imagination or vision when carrying the puck .. must learn to make better use of the space his skating and stickhandling ability creates .. boasts some confidence at the point and splendid hand-eye coordination .. partnered with Bo Dolan amongst others .. knows how to staple an opponent behind the net .. sports fairly good mobility for his size .. can play either point on the powerplay, however his shot isn't anything special .. showcases decent gap control .. uses his large wing span to close passing/shooting lanes as well as making it more difficult for the puckcarrier to bead him wide .. takes the pass well at full speed .. puts some zip on his passes .. defensively conscientious .. played in all situations including both special team units .. committed to Boston College for the 2010 season. (19gp, 0-10-10)
Taylor Peters (2010), C, Penticton:
Large-bodied pivot looks to be every bit his 6-foot-3, 200-pound frame .. blessed with the strength to punish an opponent with a solid bodycheck .. extremely sturdy on his skates and is surprisingly mobile .. not opposed to mixing it up in high traffic areas .. displays a willingness to drop down in front of a shot .. pretty decent jump out of the gates, but might not have the hands to match .. played on the penalty kill .. likely the beneficiary of extra ice time thanks to a few of his teammates being away at the World Junior A tournament this past week .. centered a line of Joey Holka and Ryan Viselli .. boasts some interesting tools, but can he put it together? (4gp, 1-3-4)
Luke Curadi (2010), D, Penticton:
Tough kid played with the Hartford Jr. Wolf Pack of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League last season .. strong as an ox and given his 6-foot-5, 255-pound frame is about as big as one .. he can throw them if he can get his mitts free and given his size could be very intimidating .. skates well for his size, but is still learning to make the correct reads and sometimes takes himself out of position because of it .. sees time on the powerplay .. at his best when he makes the safe play with the puck .. not only needs to know his limitations, but his strengths too and realise what might get him to the pros .. some have compared him to Kyle Bigos who was able to get drafted after first being passed over .. there is some potential here, yet is still more of a project than prospect.
