USHL Defenseman of the Week - Ian McCoshen

Chicago, IL - The United States Hockey League announced the CCM and Reebok player awards for the 17th week of the 2012-13 USHL regular season.
Ian McCoshen, D, Waterloo Black Hawks: The defenseman notched a goal and four assists in three games played last week. On Tuesday night, The Hudson, WI native handed out an assist in Waterloo's 4-2 loss to Lincoln. McCoshen then scored his sixth goal of the season and added two assists to help the Hawks to a 7-3 win over Cedar Rapids on Friday. He also recorded a plus-three on-ice rating in Friday's win. McCoshen now has points in five of his last six games and his 22 points (6g, 16a) ranks him tied for fourth in scoring among USHL. The 17-year-old is also tied for sixth overall in the League with a plus-23 rating.
Editor's note: the other award Award winners include J.T. Stenglein of the Waterloo Black Hawks and Kyle Novak of the Green Bay Gamblers, who were named co-recipients of CCM Forward of the Week; and Kevin Lindskoug of the Muskegon Lumberjacks, who nabs honors as Reebok Goaltender of the Week.
