USA Select 17: Peachy Keane

We continue our look at Team Green as we take our first gander at their forwards led by Brian Keane who'll be playing for the USHL's Chicago Steel this coming season. Keane led Team Green with a respectable four goals and seven points over the six game tournament. We also have notes on Jack Clayman of Massachusetts, Andy Miele of Michigan and Locke Jillson of Texas.

Plans to once again play at Governor Dummer Academy .. uses his good mobility and acceleration to close the gaps on the forecheck .. displays nice defensive awareness and does a good job picking up the trailer .. needs to get stronger, however he does have the frame to do so .. has the overall speed to get himself open, although must improve his shot .. wore #8 .. USA Select 17 totals (6, 1-4-5-2).
Andy Miele (2006), F
Might be small at 5'8"-150lbs., but as he showed with Little Caesars last year when he tallied 40 goals, 61 assists for 101 points in 68 games he knows where the net is .. has some pop to his wrist shot .. uses his vision to find the open man .. supports the puckcarrier well .. showed his speed and offensive touch on a play where he was able to beat a defender wide and send a shot the other way and over the startled goalie's shoulder .. sometimes over handles the puck, but there is little question that he has imagination and superb hands .. wore #9 .. USA Select 17 totals (6, 2-3-5-2).
Brian Keane (2006), F
Proved his 67 points (31-36-67) in 57 games with Rochester Junior Americans last season as he led Team Green in goals and points .. needs to work on improving his strength, especially on the puck .. displayed some mobility along the boards where he was often able to elude a check .. can be guilty of trying to be a bit too cute at times with the puck .. has the overall speed to beat the opposition on the outside .. wore #10 .. USA Select 17 totals (6, 4-3-7-4).
Locke Jillson (2006), F
Produced 58 points (26-32-58) in 57 games last season for the Alliance Bulldogs .. doesn't hit with authority, although he does cut down time and space reasonably well .. displays good vision and can generally find the open man in the offensive zone .. needs to be much more proactive without the puck as he was often found being a bit of a spectator .. wore #11 .. USA Select 17 totals (6, 2-2-4-0).
