USA Select 17: Kaiser Soza

In our final look at Team Maroon we finish our review of their forwards and include notes on New York's Adam Kaiser and the poor netminder that had the unenviable job of trying to match the exploits of stud netminder Billy Sauer. We also have notes on forwards Chris Cannizzaro of New York, Jascha Pettit of Minnesota and goalie Rob Madore of Pennsylvania.
Chris Cannizarro (2006), F

Produced 58 points (21-37-58) in 54 games for the Syracuse Stars last season .. is willing to go to the net for loose pucks and scored at least one goal by being to poke home a rebound .. displayed no hesitation on taking heavy hits to gain the offensive zone .. has good vision as well as the ability to anticipate the play .. takes the pass cleanly, although lacks elite playmaking skills at this level and too often the play died with him .. wore #18 .. USA Select 17 totals (6, 2-0-2-4).
Jascha Pettit (2006), F
Had 43 points (23-20-43) in 21 games for Wadena-Deer Creek High School last year .. doesn't show a lot of imagination in the offensive zone and will gladly just set up for a shot and let it rip instead of trying to find a teammate .. has a howitzer of a slap shot, but accuracy needs some work .. has the size (6'0"-190lbs.) and strength to dish out solid hits .. displayed defensive awareness by coming back to help out .. was creative getting by a defender when he chipped the puck off the boards and then got around the startled defenseman for a scoring chance .. wore #19 .. USA Select 17 totals (6, 0-1-1-0).
Adam Kaiser (2006), F
Chipped in with 32 points for the NJ Devils and coach Chad Dlugolecki last season .. didn't score a lot, but was at his most lethal when he kept his shot low .. lacks the strength to standup to heavy hits along the wall .. blessed with exceptional speed and when combined with superb mobility he can get in quick on the forecheck to create turnovers .. needs to show more of a commitment to his play without the puck as he tends to back off his work ethic .. wore #20 .. USA Select 17 totals (6, 1-1-2-4).
Rob Madore (2006), G
Recorded 25 wins & 13 losses with a 2.78 goals against average and a 0.919 save percentage in 42 games with the Pittsburgh Hornets in 04-5 .. not afraid to throw his body in to traffic in order to jump on a loose puck .. seemed to lack the confidence that one needs to have at the next level .. he made some nice saves at times, but he just isn't an elite goaltender which was made all the more apparent when he would go in after Billy Sauer had generally stood on his head .. Madore has some work ahead of him to be a prospect at the NHL level .. wore #30 .. USA Select 17 totals (Sv% 0.891, GAA 3.38).
