William Frederick (2007), F, White
Notched 43 points (38gp, 17-26-43) with Shady Side Academy last season .. uses his ample size, 6'3-210lbs., to fight through traffic to find the holes .. lacks elite skating ability, especially weak is his acceleration and overall speed .. works hard without the puck, finishes his checks solidly and battles in traffic to create turnovers .. Brett Bruneteau (2007), F, White
Scored 19 points (43gp, 5-3-8) for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL .. grandfather Ed and his brother Mud played for the Red Wings .. gets a very good jump out of his first few strides .. boasts a solid wrist shot that can fool a goalie .. creates turnovers with his tight checking, however off the faceoff he needs to get more of his body on the opposing center .. must be careful late in the game about protecting and clearing the puck out of harm's way .. Spencer Heichman (2007), F, White
Counted only eight points (43gp, 5-3-8) with the USHL's Sioux City Musketeers .. very quick little skater, 5'6-140lbs., that isn't shy about going through traffic .. pressures the puck efficiently and has the mobility and acceleration to cause defenders fits as he darts in and out of traffic .. extremely good on the forecheck and will finish his checks .. smart with the puck .. his wrist shot really takes off of his blade .. Jimmy Hayes (2008), F, White
Played for Noble & Greenough last season and is slated to play with the National Team Development Program this coming year .. gigantic forward, 6'5-210lbs., still has room to add some muscle to his ample frame .. lacks elite acceleration and mobility, however is fairly strong on his skates .. quite passive on the penalty-kill and likes to rely on his large wingspan .. can be a tad slow getting back in to the play after solidly finishing his check .. won't give up on a play as highlighted by the time he missed the net with a shot from right in the slot, but regained the puck from behind the net and was able to bring it out front and score .. Jared Festler (2008), F, White
Chipped in 82 points (31gp, 49-33-82) for Little Falls High School .. does a nice job protecting the puck .. looks like a goal scorer with his ability to shoot across his body while still getting some zip on the shot .. boasts good mobility and agility .. goes to the net without the puck .. smart player will use his body to gain position .. takes the puck to the net .. will park himself and take the punishment .. Nick Larson (2008), F, White
Notched 35 points (30gp, 12-23-35) with St. Thomas Academy last season .. sound stride with decent acceleration .. takes the body and likes to finish his checks .. generally moves the puck crisply and on target .. will need to get stronger as he gets knocked off his feet a bit too easily .. defensively aware which was highlighted when he dropped back to replace a pinching defender .. Tyrel McBain (2007), F, White
Scored 53 points (24gp, 37-16-53) for Hazen Beulah Northstars in 05-6 .. strong in the faceoff circle .. goes to the holes and makes no mistake knocking it home .. takes the body effectively .. very physical and will get his nose dirty along the wall .. needs to work harder or at least be more proactive without the puck, especially in his own zone .. Cameron Robichaud (2007), F, White
Played for Edward Little High School in 05-6 .. must work on moving the puck with more urgency .. a bit slow getting back in to the play, but will use the body and stick when he does get there .. lacks even average acceleration, although his mobility is fine .. hand-eye coordination is average .. Kevin Ogiba (2008), F, White
Counted 106 points (56-50-106) combined Wheatfield Blades/Niagara Wheatfield High School .. exhibits good mobility, acceleration and overall speed .. works hard without the puck and comes back quickly to help out on defense .. keeps his feet moving on contact and is especially effective when he uses his strength to try and muscle past the opposing center off the draw .. Mike Hoeffel (2007), F, White
Tallied 73 points (31gp, 27-46-73) for Hill-Murray High School .. should display more urgency without the puck and is especially passive on the penalty-kill .. his skating looks a bit stiff and needs to keep his feet moving as he's not too bad in a straight line .. very nice size, 6'2-185lbs. and showed his strength by overpowering a player in the slot .. displays good puck pursuit late in the game while forechecking .. Justin Crew (2007), F, White
Chipped in 80 points (61gp, 44-36-80) with the Colorado Rampage .. undersized at 5'9-140lbs. and takes the body, but not with any great commitment .. takes the pass smoothly .. gets in tight on the point man .. boasts good mobility and acceleration .. comes back on defense .. must get a tad stronger on his skates .. Danny Colvin (2007), F, White
Was a member of the NJ Devils .. above average hand-eye coordination .. a bit passive on the forecheck .. is reasonably strong on his skates and blessed with good mobility, although lacks a bit of overall speed and acceleration .. needs to protect the puck better .. Frank Grzeszczak (2007), D, White
Scored 16 points (56gp, 5-11-16) for the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL .. displays poise with the puck, especially at his own zone .. isn't much of a crease clearer .. showed weakness playing the man as witnessed by the time he allowed the player to slip the puck through his legs and get untouched around him for a scoring chance .. A very good overall skater he counted 21 points (6-15-21) for the NJ Devils last season .. pint-sized defender, 5'8-155lbs, is surprisingly solid one-on-one and uses both his stick and body to close .. moves the puck crisply and on target .. needs to improve his awareness in his own zone .. Greg Schell (2008), D, White
Tallied 54 points (64gp, 21-33-54) with Midland Northstars .. conscientious defensively and does a solid job marking his man .. takes the body well and likes to muck it up in the dirty areas .. finishes his checks with authority .. head mans the puck accurately, although could be bit a bit crisper .. was guilty of over committing on occasion when playing the on a one-on-one which sometimes led to a better scoring chance .. Chipped in only one goal and three assists in 21 games with the Pittsburgh Hornets .. large bodied defender lacks mobility but is solid on his skates and protects the puck, especially along the wall .. needs to get his point shot away quicker so it gets through ..

Notched 40 points (31gp, 12-28-40) with Cretin-Derham Hall High School .. nifty with the stick as he was able to strip more than one puckcarrier .. uses his size effectively to tie up the man .. boasts a heavy wrist shot .. makes no mistake clearing the puck out of his zone .. Blake Kessel (2007), D, White
Scored 62 points (65gp, 26-36-62) for Madison Capitols .. boasts good mobility and acceleration .. protects the puck well as he pushes forward and can drill a wrist shot home .. needs to be more aware of players slipping in behind coverage .. uses his stick to back off the puck carrier and is very competent blocking shots .. joins the rush when appropriate .. John Yanchek (2007), G, White
Played for Mercer Chiefs .. pint-sized, 5'8-165lbs., does a nice job staying with the shooter .. steers most of his rebounds out of harm's way .. very agile, with good recovery skills .. definitely on the small side .. USA Select 17 totals (Sv% 0.902, GAA 2.40).
Richard Stine (2007), G, White
Played for Notre Dame CHS where he recorded six wins and one loss .. very vocal in the nets .. has to watch his control of rebounds .. stands up well and finds the shot through traffic .. pretty athletic in goal .. nice size, 6'3-185lbs., but a little slow moving side-to-side and up and down .. a bit of a gambler, however doesn't always guess right .. Mark Silverman (2007), F, Teal
Smallish forward notched 52 points (71gp, 21-31-52) with Victory Honda .. showcases nice quality nice agility, acceleration and overall skating, however isn't overly strong and has trouble physically .. very tight checking on the penalty-kill .. isn't hesitant to go in to traffic .. sometimes gets mesmerized by the puck .. Ryan Hayes (2007), F, Teal
Scored 54 points (61gp, 34-20-54) with the National Team Development Program last season .. a good, not great skater .. even though he's listed at 5'10-175lbs. he still looks a bit on the slender side .. defensively conscientious .. moves the puck crisply and does look for an open linemate, although doesn't show much a lot of offensive imagination with the puck .. Paul Lee (2007), F, Teal
Long wingspan forward played for Lawrenceville Prep in 05-6 and will be returning to play for coach Etienne Bilodeau .. comes back all the way to cover for a pinching defender .. uses his size and strength, 6'2-190lbs., well in traffic .. not surprisingly given his aforementioned size is fairly solid on his skates and can take a hit .. Martin Sundstedt (2007), F, Teal
Counted 47 points (45gp, 25-22-47) with coach Paul Taylor's Dallas IceJets .. sports the speed to slice through defensive coverage and will take the puck to the net and is fairly elusive in cramped quarters .. uses very good mobility and acceleration to aid him in closing the gaps on the forecheck .. will drive hard to the net with or without the puck .. Nick Dineen (2007), F, Teal
Tallied 17 points (53gp, 6-11-17) for Sioux Falls Stampede of the USHL .. does a nice job using his body to shield the puck .. finishes his checks, but must be aware of not delivering a hit from behind which he did cost his some time in the box .. displays nice offensive vision .. Mobile Californian chipped in 64 points (34-30-64) in 47 games combined with the LA Jr. Kings/Beach City Lightning .. defensively aware and covered for a pinching defender .. puts pressure on the puckcarrier .. bares a fairly heavy wrist shot and can have some success when he keeps it low .. Robert Johnson (2007), F, Teal
Notched 33 points (27gp, 13-20-33) for Duluth East High School .. blessed with good vision and will use his open linemates .. has some zip to his wrist shot .. fairly mobile, with decent acceleration .. will go in to the dirty areas .. comes back on defense .. USA Select 17 totals (5gp, 1-1-2).
Eric Meland (2008), F, Teal
Scored 39 points (25gp, 16-23-39) for Red River High School .. will get physically involved, although can look a bit hesitant at times looks a bit hesitant to play in traffic or take a hit .. gets a good jump out of the gates .. backs up his defensemen .. pressures the point on the penalty-kill .. not the most defensively aware forward as he can be guilty of running around a bit, yet he does try and won't quit .. Counted36 points (15-21-36) for Joe Gaul's Pittsburgh Hornets last season .. boasts very good acceleration and has the mobility to be quite elusive carrying the puck .. needs to get back quicker on defense, however is generally conscientious defensively .. protects the puck well .. will take the body, just isn't strong enough to have much of a presence .. Jason Bourgea (2007), F, Teal
Tallied 16 points (28gp, 11-5-16) with St. Paul's School .. finishes his checks, yet can also be guilty of chasing the puck and losing position .. surprisingly strong on his skates .. good passer .. fights hard to get open in front of the net and gets scoring chances by working hard after contact .. will take the body .. Stephen Moses (2007), F, Teal
Racked up an incredible 148 points (81gp, 71-77-148) for Boston Jr. Bruins .. quick feet, but lacks the strength to do much damage in traffic .. has the ability to fend off a backchecker and dish a short pass to clear the zone .. came back well on defense, even covering for a pinching defender .. has the hands to finish in the scoring areas .. takes the pass smoothly .. Matt Rappaport (2007), F, Teal
Played for Berkshire School last year .. does a terrific job using his speed to cut down time and space on the forecheck, while being especially dangerous pressuring the pointman while killing penalties .. not the biggest guy around at 5'8-160lbs., so it isn't a huge surprise that has some trouble in traffic .. not overly strong on his skates .. Kevin Kittredge (2007), D, Teal
Scored 17 points (22gp, 7-10-17) for Alex Moody's NJ Devils .. possesses nice acceleration and mobility .. should be more conservative in regards to taking chances that if they don't pan out could cost his team an odd man rush against .. not much in the physical department, choosing more to finesse the puck loose with his stick .. a bit sloppy handling the puck in danger areas .. Justin Jackowski (2007), D, Teal
Quick defender counted 21 points (26gp, 3-18-21) for Mona Shores High School .. must bare down more in his zone and clear the puck with authority, especially on the PK .. not a physical presence in his own zone and is especially susceptible to forwards crashing the crease as he's not very big, listed at just over 150 pounds, so adding strength is of ultra importance .. Dean Moore (2007), D, Teal
Tallied 23 points combined (48gp, 10-13-23) with Berkshire School/GBL Bruins .. strong skater with a nice extra gear which helps him be a threat to go end-to-end .. should work on releasing his shot quicker, because he does get it on target when he does .. can be guilty of trying to force the point shot through traffic .. little sloppy with his passes on occasion .. Derrick Pallis (2008), D, Teal
Chipped in 27 points (30gp, 7-20-27) with Noble & Greenough last year .. uses an active stick in the defensive zone and works hard in the dirty areas .. closes the passing lanes well .. isn't shy about carrying the puck, however must aim to protect it better .. can also be guilty of trying to force passes that just aren't there .. sometimes takes himself out of position trying to put pressure on the puckcarrier .. Patrick Alber (2007), D, Teal
Notched 20 points (48gp, 3-17-20) for Northwood School .. boasts quick feet allowing him to elude the opposition, especially down low on the forecheck .. good overall speed and nice acceleration .. will take the body, but at 5'10-165lbs., doesn't have the size or strength to be very effective even at this level .. delivers crisp, accurate breakout passes, yet has the ability to jump up and join the rush .. needs to use better judgment on when to and when not to take chances .. Vincent LoVerde (2007), D, Teal
Will be back with the Waterloo Blackhawks this season after scoring 11 points (53gp, 5-6-11) with them in 05-6 .. solid on his skates and supports his defensive partner .. will pinch in from the point, but isn't close to being an elite offensive defender .. displayed a lack of touch on an attempted breakaway pass that must have been two feet off the ice the whole way .. doesn't protect the puck well while trying to stickhandle past checkers .. can look a bit sluggish getting back after pinching up late in a shift which should be a clue to him about not staying out too long and possibly hurting his team .. Kent Patterson (2007), G, Teal
Played for The Blake School last season where he recorded 14 wins and eight losses .. remained square to the shooter and is able to effectively play his angles .. comes out nicely to challenge the shooter, but must be watch his five-hole .. USA Select 17 totals (Sv% 0.907, GAA 2.67).
Mike Morgan (2008), G, Teal
Replaced TJ Fuller after the later couldn't get medical clearance to participate in the Camp after having been in the hospital the two days prior .. does a decent job covering the net and not leaving holes when he goes down .. recovers reasonably quickly after going down .. still prone to allowing too much space when he is forced side-to-side .. USA Select 17 totals (Sv% 0.814, GAA 6.57).

Kurt Akers (2007), F, Royal
Notched 56 points (70gp, 23-33-56) for Chicago Young Americans .. doesn't have an elite top gear .. should come back harder on defense .. finishes his checks and is willing to take the body, although isn't an intimidating presence .. boasts good mobility and acceleration .. Anthony DeCenzo (2007), F, Royal
Chipped in 52 points (27gp, 20-32-52) with Hibbing High School last season .. does a nice job eluding a check .. comes back quickly to support the defense .. pretty good speed once he gets going and goes to the net without the puck .. takes the body, but isn't a physical presence thanks in large part due to his 5'9-160 pound frame .. Brennan Vargas (2007), F, Royal
In 65 games for the US-NTDP he had 34 points (65gp, 12-22-34) .. tends to be around the puck a lot, especially in the offensive zone .. displays good defensive awareness and comes back promptly .. looked a bit sluggish out of the blocks, however possesses decent overall speed and is solid on his skates .. generally moves the puck effectively .. Merrick Friedman (2007), F, Royal
Counted 11 goals and 13 assists in 24 games with Deerfield Academy last year .. closes the gaps on the puckcarrier .. moves the puck well and keeps his head up when he's stickhandling .. not hesitant to carry the puck and possesses good overall speed and mobility .. is aggressive on the penalty-kill and sports an active stick .. USA Select 17 totals (5gp, 1-0-1).
Michael Juola (2007), F, Royal
Produced 67 points (63gp, 31-36-67) for Mike Lewis' California Wave .. very good overall skater with good mobility and acceleration .. goes to the net, although doesn't hang around there .. finds the holes and generally keeps his feet moving .. drives the net and takes out the defender "cleanly" to create space .. displays some creativity with the puck .. Cam Atkinson (2007), F, Royal
Tallied 43 points (26gp, 19-24-43) for Avon Old Farms last season .. slick imaginative puckhandler in tight quarters .. boasts great speed and the top gear to back to back off defenses .. splendid mobility and acceleration .. listed at 5'7-155lbs. it isn't surprising that he lacks strength, however if he gets a step on a defender they're in a world of trouble .. unveils a strong shot off the wing .. Andrew Glass (2007), F, Royal
Chipped in 39 points (30gp, 15-24-39) for Noble & Greenough .. a reasonably elusive skater that exhibits good acceleration and mobility .. has an active stick and does a nice job pressuring the point, without taking himself out of the play .. displays good defensive awareness and can be counted to come back hard .. David Brownschidle (2007), F, Royal
Scored only two points (1-1-2) in 30 games with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL .. his uncles, Jack and Jeff Brownschidle, were defensemen at Notre Dame University and former NHL players with the St. Louis Blues and Hartford Whalers, respectively (USA Hockey) .. very solid on his skates and boasts great outside speed .. has the power to hit with authority and loves to finish and check hard when he has an opponent lined up .. tremendous acceleration and has an above average top gear .. still has to prove whether he can finish at this level .. Keegan Meuer (2007), F, Royal
Produced 69 points (20gp, 38-31-69) for James Madison Memorial High School .. shows off a very powerful slap shot that he doesn't hesitate to unleash .. comes back deep to support the defense .. will fight through contact and keeps his feet moving .. cuts down time and space on the forecheck .. Tallied 37 points (55gp, 16-21-37) with Compuware in 05-6 .. would like to see a bit lackadaisical in the dirty areas as he displayed when an opponent to beat him to the puck along the wall .. boasts the overall speed to beat a defender wide and does a nice job keeping his feet moving on contact .. won't hesitate to go to the net with the puck .. looks for the open man .. James Recupero (2007), F, Royal
Chipped in 60 points (60gp, 30-30—60) with the Pittsburgh Hornets .. uses all of his 5'11-185lbs. frame to fight for his space in front of the net and is more than willing to take punishment .. boasts very good mobility and acceleration .. works well in traffic .. comes back to help on defense .. CJ Stretch (2007), F, Royal
Notched 17 points (5-12-17) in 64 games last season for the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League .. needs to speed up his dekes as he does it way too slow to beat anybody .. definitely thinks offense first and doesn't display much interest in coming back to help out on defense .. very good touch on his passes as he tried to allow the player to skate in to it .. posses maturing vision and the ability to thread a pass through traffic to find an open teammate .. In 59 games for the Pikes Peak Miners he had 35 points (7-28-35) .. show cases nice hand-eye coordination .. makes good body contact .. needs to make smarter plays with the puck and not just dump it out .. pretty strong on his skates and can stand a puckcarrier up at the line .. will pinch in deep to take the pass .. gets the point shot hard through traffic .. loves to deliver bone crunching open ice hits .. Played for NJ Devils last season .. quick feet helps give him a boost out of the gates .. his acceleration really allows him to recover quickly when beaten .. boasts tremendous hand-eye coordination .. USA Select 17 totals (5gp, 0-1-1).
Adam Chavez (2007), D, Royal
Tallied 31 points (25gp, 5-26-31) for Farmington High School .. uses an active stick on the penalty-kill .. doesn't panic with the puck and generally makes the high percentage play .. has to time his bodychecks better as he sometimes missed rubbing guys out and missed him .. protects the puck reasonably well, but lacks an elite separation gear on stickhandling ability to make him a threat to go end-to-end .. Tommy Cross (2007), D, Royal
Chipped in 43 points (21gp, 13-30-43) for Simsbury High School last season .. was named the 2005-2006 Hockey Player of the Year in Connecticut (USA Hockey) .. shows off very good overall speed .. jumped up to make a hit in the offensive zone .. some times his pinching allows odd-man rushes against .. takes the body and has the strength to crunch a guy against the boards .. needs to be more aware of opponents slipping in behind coverage .. Tristin Llewellyn (2007), D, Royal
Notched 10 points (49gp, 5-5-10) with the Tri-City Storm .. displays leadership, plays with some sandpaper and a bit of a nasty streak .. won't allow his goalie being run to go without notice .. boasts the ability to step up to deliver bone-crunching hits in the open ice .. moves the puck crisply and on the tape .. won't hesitate to join the rush or even jump on a loose puck to create a breakaway .. communicates well with his defensive partner .. the puck tends to come to him .. definitely a defender that opponents going down his side should be aware of .. at his best when exhibiting a physical presence .. Tyler Kieffer (2007), D, Royal
Scored three goals and added 14 helpers in 22 games with Stillwater High School .. stickhandles well in traffic and will help out on the rush due to his quick feet and is especially mobile in traffic .. his wrist shot is deceptive as it is heavier than it first appears and his slap shot is fairly lethal .. blessed with the ability to not only find the open man deep, but deliver a sweet saucer pass right on the tape .. Michael Heffron (2007), G, Royal
Played for Malden Catholic High School last year where he recorded nine wins and five losses .. stays square to the shooters although can lose his way on point shots .. just gives up too much space on the far side, in fact his overall play on angles needs work .. RJ Copeland (2007), G, Royal
Was a member of the Artic Lions last season posting 22 wins, 0.916 Sv% and a 2.30 GAA .. Alaskan netminder recovers quickly, but needs to play his angles better to make up for his lack of size (5'9-150lbs.) .. comes across well with his pad to take away the low shot .. is prone to allowing the odd real weak goal .. Produced a combined 61 points (21gp, 35-26-61) for Madison La Follette High School/Team Wisconsin in 05-6 .. must get stronger on his skates and can look sluggish on occasion, however he does have decent acceleration when he's skating with determination .. some of his passes were a bit off the mark and even a few were able to be intercepted rather easily .. works hard in the dirty areas and displays good puck pursuit .. will go to the net looking for the pass and on the flip side does a nice job of moving the puck .. Counted 22 points (10-12-22) in 62 games for the US National Team Development Program .. extremely large blueliner, 6'3-195lbs., handles the puck with difficulty when pressured .. doesn't always read the play well enough to make the correct decision and thus gets caught out of position .. although his numbers at the Camp were very good he still isn't blessed with terrific offensive vision and his passes were a bit off the mark .. flashes a hard, low point shot that can find the back of the net or at the very least creates a scoring chance off of a rebound .. Was a member of Midland Northstars last year posting 23 wins, 0.943 save percentage and a 1.66 goals against average .. good recovery skills, although can have some trouble coming across the crease while still retaining his position in regards to the shooter .. never say die attitude that doesn't allow him to give up on a play .. solid glove hand and has very nice hand-eye coordination .. his rebound control still needs some work .. Played for NJ Devils last season under the tutelage of Chad Dlugolecki .. solid on his skates, however his overall skating doesn't stand out .. can be a bit of a liability in the defensive zone .. displays a nice release and can find the holes .. proved that he isn't an elite goal scorer as he had a terrific opportunity to score when he was sent in on a breakaway with all the time in the world and shot well over the net .. protects the puck effectively .. is a decent passer who will look for his linemates .. Last Season he played with the NTDP .. boasts surprising mobility and acceleration for his size as most defenders have trouble handling him .. when he gets all of it, he possesses a booming slap shot .. has the size (6'3-205) and strength to carry the puck through traffic as well as the stickhandling ability to make people miss .. ties up his man off the draw .. hits effectively .. terrific hands, takes and gives the pass with ease - as an example he dished out a sweet backhand pass while being heavily checked .. splendid imagination and confidence which allows him to try cheeky moves like putting a backhand shot through his legs to try and score .. Chipped in 38 points (22gp, 25-15-40) between Trenton High School and Little Caesars last year .. uses an active stick on the pk .. got terrific push off of his first few steps off of the draw and was able to slip by his check and put pressure on the pointman .. although he will park himself in front, he still needs to add some beef, 5'9-165lbs., to have more success in the dirty areas .. doesn't take advantage of opportunities to take the body, especially in open ice where he chooses to go for the puck instead of the man .. Played for the Okanagan Hockey Academy last season posting 15 wins and a 2.39 goals against average .. must be careful about going down too quickly as he got beaten upstairs a few times at the Camp because of that .. appears to be a bit weak on the blocker side .. should make quicker decisions such as when to sprint out for a loose puck .. moves the puck reasonably well, but still needs some work on handling it .. at his best when he stays square to the shooter and force the opponent to make a move .. Amassed 55 points (28gp, 28-27-55) for Cloquet High School .. brandishes tremendous mobility, acceleration and explosive overall speed as well as having terrific hand-eye coordination .. has the finesse to pick the corners on a goalie and the power to blast a heavy wrist shot .. supports the puckcarrier .. can be quite dangerous in one-on-one situations .. keeps his feet moving on contact .. splendid work ethic with or without the puck and in all zones .. at 5'9-155lbs., it isn't surprising that he needs to get stronger on his skates .. Produced 64 points (72gp, 26-38-64) while with Little Caesars & Honeybaked last year and is planning on playing with the Brampton Battallion in the upcoming season .. gets in quickly on the puckcarrier thanks to very nice overall speed .. supports the puckcarrier well and has good vision .. needs to get more on his shot and we would like to see him challenge the defense more making full use of his speed when he has the puck .. definitely small at 5'9-155lbs., however does finish his checks and is relatively conscientious when in his own zone .. Played for Colorado Thunderbirds .. blessed with good acceleration, mobility and over all is fairly fleet of foot .. his twin brother Tim played for Team Green during the camp .. their cousin is Robb Stauber who won the Hobey Baker Award as a goaltender and went on to play for the L.A. Kings and the Buffalo Sabres .. but boasts decent size and strength and will hit with authority, yet on the flip side gets knocked off of his feet a bit too easily .. does a nice job battling for position in front .. has a pretty healthy wrist shot .. moves the puck crisply and on the tape .. showcases some touch and imagination around the net .. Tallied 23 points (68gp, 13-10-23) last year with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League .. large bodied forward, 6'3-210lbs., is very powerful and is extremely tough for defenders to clear from the danger areas .. has a tendency to throw the puck blindly in attempt to clear the zone .. finds the holes and displays zero hesitation in driving the net .. not a bad skater, although is a bit stiff looking in short stretches and his mobility and top gear are somewhat lacking .. will work hard to get back in to the play .... Racked up 68 points (67gp, 26-42-68) while with the Chicago Mission .. takes the body effectively and finishes his checks .. comes back to take the trailer, however isn't always that aware of his responsibilities in the defensive zone .. above average mobility, overall speed and he really gets a good jump out of the gates .. lacks elite hands as he still has some trouble burying his chances as he likely should have had another goal or two during the Camp .. Chipped in nine points (60gp, 4-5-9) last year for the US-NTDP .. large defender, 6'4-195lbs., looks hesitant to carry the puck and usually dumps it over to his defensive partner .. can look a bit confused in his own zone .. works hard in his own zone .. worked hard in the dirty areas and didn't shy away from contact .. does a commendable job forcing the puckcarrier to the outside and keeping him there .. lacks above average acceleration as his stride is a bit choppy, yet he will carry the puck a bit if there is a clear path .. still prone to the odd giveaway if pressured and lacks the speed to recover when that happens .. Produced 23 wins and 13 losses with Victory Honda .. modeled an eagle on his mask just like his dad, Ed Belfour, whose currently the second all-time winningest goaltender in the NHL .. displays a willingness to leave the net and make a long breakout pass .. handles the puck with confidence and generally looks composed, almost cocky .. comes across the crease smoothly and remains square to the shooter .. tends to go down early and must watch where he puts his rebounds .. his statistics at the Camp were significantly better than, Matt Brooker .. his goaltending partner on Team Orange .. Won 17 and lost 23 as a member of the Washington Jr. Nationals .. according to USA Hockey he currently holds a 4.0 GPA .. boasts the ability to recover quickly when he goes down, yet generally did a nice job of staying on his feet .. made a nice stop down low after having to come across the crease .. was a bit slow reacting to a wrap around, but has quick enough feet to make up for it .. usually stays focused and square to the shooter, although holes developed quickly when he was forced to move side-to-side .. Added 43 points (40gp, 17-26-43) last year for the Alaska Allstars .. smallish forward, but with good mobility and acceleration .. doesn't get much out of his wrist shot .. does his best to fight through traffic, although his lack of size 5'8-150lbs hinders his effectiveness .. competent backchecker and usually can be counted on to pick up the trailer moved the puck nicely to the open man .. Chipped in 15 points (22gp, 5-10-15) for New York Apple Core .. blessed with good jets and will use his speed to charge the net, unfortunately at 5'6 and 155lbs. he can be moved or contained relatively easily .. has a with a nice, accurate shot as he proved when he picked the corner on the short side .. would be a better checker if he kept his feet moving away from the puck and overall is a bit of a passenger in his own zone .. will take a hot to make a play, although due to his size isn't a physical presence .. Scored 30 points (81gp, 6-24-30) with Pittsburgh Hornets .. will jump up in the play .. needs to get more out of his wrist shot .. gets a good burst as he makes the turn .. his touch passes are average .. allowed too much free space for the forward going down the wing .. showed a lot of guts dropping down in front of a howitzer .. takes the body, although still should add some strength .. Chipped in with 42 points (56gp, 15-27-42) for St. Louis Jr. Blues last year .. an example of him not being very careful with the puck in his own zone is when he blindly backhanded it to no in particular .. doesn't possess much of a physical presence even though he tips the scales at 190 pounds .. boasts a canon of a slap shot .. reasonably agile .. lacks the ability to effectively fight through heavy contact and can be neutralized a bit too easily .. In 50 games for Buffalo Saints/Nichols Prep he had 40 points (8-32-40) .. big-bodied blueliner needs to add some quickness to his feet .. gets caught wandering in to no-man's land when watching the puck .. uses his superb wingspan to knock the puck away from the opposition .. extremely strong on his skates and can pound an opponent off the puck .. will pinch in from the point, sometimes when he shouldn't as he must learn to pick his spots better .. plays the man well on the one-on-one, yet still gets caught once in awhile over committing .. has a solid slap shot from the point .. lacks the speed to make up any ground when he's beaten .. needs to watch his line as he doesn't always go straight for the puck which costs him a possible step .. Played with Syracuse Jr. B last year .. displays good athleticism .. does a nice job closing the door down low .. doesn't show hesitation in a crowd or get overly bothered by a little contact, however isn't opposed to exaggerating a bump to draw a penalty .. comes well out to take the angle away from the pointman .. must improve his rebound control as it tends to get him in trouble .. Produced 40 points (50gp, 21-19-40) for Chad Dlugolecki's NJ Devils .. took a long breakaway pass and made no mistake making a few moves top open up the goalie to score his one and only goal of the Camp .. picks up the trailer as well as opponents trying to slip behind coverage .. willing to go in to traffic and take a hit, however could add some muscle to his 5'11-180lbs frame .. As a member of the Eastview High School team he scored 26 points (25gp, 11-15-26) .. showcases splendid overall speed to go with above average mobility and acceleration .. closes the gaps well on the backcheck and gets in on the forecheck pretty well .. picks up the trailing forward .. doesn't shy away from traffic, although would be well advised to add some bulk and get sturdier on his skates .. Racked up 143 points (52gp, 93-50-143) for CAHA/Horizon High School in 05-6 .. doesn't have the strength to be effective after first contact, yet protects the puck reasonably well .. will need to grow some before his draft season as he is only 5'9-165lbs .. good mobility with or without the puck .. a pretty good overall skater, but likely not enough to make up for his strength deficiency .. Played for US-NTDP last year posting 20 wins and a 2.60 Goals Against Average .. does a splendid job steering rebounds out of harm's way .. looks confident and plays with poise .. has the blocker quickness to take away the high shot even while he's dropping .. thanks to his size and overall skill he should be on most scout's radar screens for the coming season .. With the Spokane Braves he racked up 73 points (45gp, 21-52-73) .. takes a hit and comes right back .. has some zip to his slap shot .. passes well and usually allows his teammate to skate in to it .. cuts down time and space on the point man .. communicates with his teammates .. not a bad skater, just nothing special .. takes a hit to make a play .. should benefit greatly from having the extra year to refine his game and add some strength so that he is more ready for his draft year .. Produced 40 points (70gp, 20-20-40) for last season's Chicago Young Americans .. would be well advised to improve his pass reception skills as well and his delivering of the puck could use some work as well .. listed at 5'10-165lbs, yet still looks tiny .. comes back to support the defense, although isn't overly committed defensively .. a hardworking skater, but far from pretty to watch as it looks like he's chopping wood .. not overly mobile or blessed with much more than average acceleration or uses his limited jets very sparingly, but did surprise in short spurts on a few occasions .. Shattuck-St. Mary's forward flaunted an explosive shot, especially his slapper .. quick, mobile skater that nimbly darts around the ice .. puts pressure on the pointman while killing penalties and displays very good puck pursuit overall .. at 5'8 and barely over a "buck fifty" it isn't shocking that he's not overly strong and therefore gets his skating lanes closed down .. smart with the puck and thinks team first .. Honeybaked forward racked up 83 points (64gp, 43-40-83) in 05-6 .. blessed with splendid closing speed .. should be more aware about making sure to get the puck out before he gets too fancy .. gets knocked off of his feet a tad too easily .. can be a bit of a liability in his own zone as his defensive awareness is below average .. not always as crisp with his passes as you'd like to see at this level – plus he must learn to lead the player with the pass .. showed some "jam" fighting for position in front and was able to get his stick free to tip home a centering pass .. not an elite stickhandler or playmaker .. Speedy, young forward with a bit of a nasty streak lived in Germany for the past three years and became the first player to compete in a USA Select camp while living abroad in 2005 .. produced 46 points (46gp, 19-27-46) for Culver Academy .. strong in the faceoff circle .. generally does a nice job protecting the puck while driving to the goal .. boasts a hard slap shot .. looks comfortable playing the point on the powerplay, in fact generally demonstrates poise with the puck .. an elite offensive player that only needs to get stronger, which should happen as he fills out his 6'1 frame .. can be guilty of overhandling the puck .. Scored 55 points (56gp, 30-25-55) with St. Sebastian's and South Shore Dynamos last season .. uses good speed, mobility and an active stick to cut down time and space on the forecheck .. lacks an elite top gear that would take his game to an even higher level .. his wrist shot is fairly heavy .. demonstrates some vision with the puck and will look for the open man, although is too often guilty of trying to force the puck through traffic .. Hill-Murray High School player added 79 points (31gp, 41-38-79) in 05-6 .. closes the gaps well on the forecheck due to his above average wheels and top gear .. displays a willingness to cycle and use the boards to maintain possession in the offensive zone .. doesn't reveal much zip to his wrist shot .. would like to see more offensive imagination, especially when he's only got one man to beat .. A member of the US-NTDP last season where he recorded 26 points (65gp, 14-12-26) .. is a very good overall skater and is quite solid on his feet, however isn't the most explosive forward around .. does a nice job closing the passing lanes on the penalty-kill .. show cases a release that he gets away quickly .. plays hard in the dirty areas and fights tooth and nail to maintain his territory .. can pound a slap shot in on the goalie .. displays nice vision and the ability to be able to deliver the puck to the open teammate at the right time .. finishes his checks .. His father is the men's hockey coach at Dartmouth College .. scored 28 points (30gp, 9-19-28) at Hanover High School last season .. his first few steps are a bit choppy .. sometimes is guilty of overhandling the puck and turning it over .. will pinch in from the point .. not overly strong on his skates .. does a nice job battling to maintain position in the dirty areas .. Racked up 21 points (19gp, 2-19-21) for Reading High School .. has a good slap shot from the point .. looks a bit awkward making the transition from skating forward to backward and vice-versa .. although he's listed at 175 pounds which is solid for his age he will still need to add some beef to his slender looking frame .. boasts an active stick which he uses reasonably well to back off the skater .. rubbed the puckcarrier and perfectly along a wall .. a bit sloppy trying to keep the puck in from the point .. Product of the Colorado Thunderbirds is a good overall skater that unfortunately lacks an elite top gear .. reveals a physical presence and fights hard to maintain position in traffic .. is willing to pinch up to deliver an open-ice hit .. must play with more discipline as he took too many penalties for takes the man and allows his defensive mate to get the puck .. a bit too nonchalant moving the puck to his defensive partner .. Scored 43 points (13-30-43) in 56 games for Shattuck-St. Mary's last season .. conscientious defensively and generally plays the man effectively one-on-one .. needs to be crisper delivering his passes overall doesn't handle the puck with the poise that he'll need to make a push in his draft year .. will join the rush .. can be a bit overly aggressive pinching in from the point to keep the puck in and reveals some problems holding it in which in one game allowed the opposition to clinch the game with an empty net goal .. Produced 32 points (10-22-32) for Berwick Academy last year .. uses his body to get between the opposition and the puck, although still has to be careful about losing positioning .. communicates well with his defensive partner .. uses his stick and body to close passing lanes .. has trouble competing with larger and or stronger forwards in front .. lacks a physical presence .. has to be aware about when to jump up to intercept a pass .. likes to pinch in deep .. Was a last minute replacement at the Camp .. boasts a smooth slap shot and nice mobility with or without the puck .. still learning to play with poise under pressure .. takes the pass well and can join the rush .. has some trouble battling for position if he is behind the play a bit which shows a glaring lack of strength .. displays some vision and dishes out crisp passes to gain the offensive zone .. Jeremy Smith (2007), G, Grey
Lost both games he played for the OHL's Plymouth Whalers last season .. does a nice job of keeping the puck in front of him even when he goes down .. very good reflexes and stops the shots he should .. boasts a very good glove, although still has a few issues with allowing rebounds to go back in the danger areas .. still needs to improve, or at least become more consistent, coming across the crease while remaining square to the shooter .. showcased both great moments (shutdown an opponent for his half of the game while facing 21 shots) and bad moments (appeared a bit lackadaisical getting back in to the net after attempting to play it) at the camp .. Had 46 wins in 55 games with the Chicago Chill last year .. communicates well with his defense .. battles hard for position and will take matters in to his own hands which other teams are aware of and could use that to take him off of his game .. plays with passion .. stays square to the shooter and boasts splendid reflexes in tight .. handles the puck well .. definitely is someone to keep and eye on, yet his numbers at the camp were quite poor .. A member of Janesville Bluebirds last season where he recorded 83 points (47gp, 42-41-83) .. boasts the speed and quickness to jump on a loose puck and make a swift transition to offense .. comes back to support the defense .. caused all sorts of problems for the defense with his ability to get in quickly on the forecheck .. supports the puckcarrier and looks for the holes to get open to be able to take the pass .. not hesitant to play in traffic .. Hard working forward played with the Colorado Rampage last year where he scored 39 points (54gp, 14-25-39) .. splendid top speed and his mobility and acceleration are definitely above average at this level .. picks up his man and looks relatively conscientious defensively .. has some pop to his wrist shot .. showcases good effort on the backcheck as well as pursuit of the puck in general .. takes the pass well .. solid in the face-off circle .. Jack Downing (2007), F, Green
Will be leaving Taft School, where he produced 26 points (26gp, 12-14-26), for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL .. boasts good acceleration and overall speed and given his 6'3-195lbs frame can be a bit of handful for defenders .. goes in to traffic and is more than willing to get his nose dirty .. needs to show more determination coming back on defense .. takes the pass well on the forehand, however still has work to do on receiving it cleanly backhanded .. unveils a quick shot, although would have had even more goals at the camp if he was a bit more accurate .. will drive the net looking to tip in a pass .. keeps skating and working on contact .. Played for Edina High School and chipped in with 36 points (25gp, 13-23-36) .. terrific top end speed, and although choppy out of the gates is still a very good overall skater .. stickhandles well in traffic .. possesses a decent wrist shot in tight and his slap shot isn't too bad either .. accepts the pass smoothly .. looks for the holes .. Added 94 points (67gp, 52-42-94) with Belle Tire last year .. his skating appears a tad sloppy, yet he still possesses very good acceleration .. protects the puck well using his body .. displays terrific vision and touch with regards to moving the puck in tight spots .. brandishes a slap shot that gets in quickly on the goalie .. fights for his space in traffic, just needs to display that same desire in his own zone .. Was held pointless in 26 games with the Everett Silvertips in his rookie year .. must battle harder for loose pucks although does show a willingness to fight for his space .. held up his man off the draw long enough to buy his teammate some time .. skating is fine, it just doesn't stand out .. protects the puck well .. supports the puckcarrier .. Played for Wyoming Seminary Prep .. lacks elite acceleration, or top end speed and mobility is a bit of a concern .. has the strength to not get outmuscled in close quarters .. comes back and is conscientious defensively, will also cover at the point for a pinching defender .. goes to the holes .. has a lot of work ahead of him before he can be seriously considered a threat to be drafted .. Vincent Scarsella (2008), F, Green
Added 69 points (36gp, 33-36-69) for St. Francis High School in 05-6 .. smallish forward is fleet of foot and really gets a splendid burst out of the gates .. obviously needs to add some weight (150lbs.) and some height (5'8), but has some time thanks to late September birth date .. works hard without the puck, but due to aforementioned lack of size isn't all that effective .. must look for his teammates more as he tended to develop tunnel vision on occasion .. uses his speed well in regards to puck pursuit .. Patrick Cullen (2007), F, Green
Washington Jr. National's forward chipped in with 23 points (40gp, 8-15-23) .. good feet .. doesn't show a lot of interest in getting back didn't look very comfortable on the PK .. goes to the net looking for the puck .. is fairly poised making a move to evade a checker before he dishes it off .. finishes his checks well and takes the body .. Nico Sacchetti (2007), F, Green
Posted 74 points (27gp, 29-45-74) with Virginia High School last year .. not huge, but gets good bang for his buck when he hits or finishes his checks .. puts pressure on the pointman when killing penalties .. illustrated his skill when he jumped on a turnover and didn't panic on a two-on-one when his linemate was taken away as he made a nifty move on the goalie and poked it past him .. like to see him get a bit more out of his shot .. not the most polished player in his own end .. Richard Manley (2008), F, Green
Played for the US National Team Development Program last season and sported 18 points (65gp, 8-10-18) .. humongous forward, 6'5-220lbs, is strong on his skates and can knock a player off the puck .. finishes his checks well .. blessed with a heavy wrist and slap shot with some zip .. has enough speed and acceleration to go along with the strength to be able to fight through traffic .. has some mobility with or without the puck .. given his size and the fact that he's already playing at an elite level he is a player to keep an eye on for the 08 Entry Draft .. Chipped in with 35 points (25gp, 9-26-35) for the New England Jr. Falcons .. gets in quickly on the forecheck and arrives in ill humour .. creates turnovers and finishes his checks .. goes to the net and battles for position .. very good hand-eye coordination .. defensively aware as he showed at the Camp when he got back to the point to cover for a pinching teammate .. Anthony Leone (2007), D, Green
Chipped in with 23 points (65gp, 2-21-23) at Honeybaked last season .. a good overall skater, but rarely opens it up to push forward .. hangs back to allow his defensive partner to pinch in .. uses the boards well to move the puck .. doesn't look very confident and rarely initiates play with the puck, however he is quite reliable in his own zone .. effectively played the puckcarrier and kept him to the outside .. usually moves the puck crisply and on target .. Zachary Bartlett (2008), D, Green
Produced 22 points (7-15-22) with Culver Academy in 05-06 .. mobility and acceleration are areas that need work, although he does have the overall speed and strength to carry the puck .. must become more accurate with his passes, especially breaking out of the defensive zone .. doesn't protect the puck well enough and is prone to unforced turnovers when he blindly tries to clear it .. will benefit from having a late birthday as he still has a ton of work before he is ready to succeed at the next level .. Split time between Des Moines and Sioux City where he didn't have a point (39gp, 0-0-0) .. will join the rush and does showcase an ability to move the puck .. wasn't very effective taking his man one-on-one even though he boast decent size, 6'0-190, at this level .. wasn't that effective taking the man one-on-one as witnessed by one player going right around him without getting touched .. displays confidence and is very slick with the puck .. very strong on his skates and possesses terrific acceleration .. demonstrated unselfishness and leadership passing the puck on a two-on-none breakaway .. Defenseman for Shattuck-St. Mary's where he accumulated 25 points (58gp, 4-21-25) last year .. strong on his skates and rarely gets beaten man-on-man .. won't hesitate to pinch in from the point .. does have a tendancy to wander in his own zone .. makes opponents pay a price in close .. does a decent job cutting off the pass on the two-on-one .. needs to play with more determination in his own zone, especially when he has a chance to move it .. unveiled a solid release and hard slap shot .. A member of the LA Jr. Kings last season where he added eight points (68gp, 3-5-8) .. plays with some grit and will use his 5'10-170lbs frame to battle in front of his own net to maintain position, but still needs to get stronger to have more success taking the body .. uses the boards when he needs to move the puck, yet can dish out fairly accurate breakout passes .. closes the door quickly on puckcarriers .. Was a member of coach Kevin Holmstrom's Colorado Thunderbirds squad last season .. his twin brother Thomas played for Team Orange during the camp .. their cousin is Robb Stauber who won the Hobey Baker Award as a goaltender and went on to play for the L.A. Kings and the Buffalo Sabres .. moves well on his skates and is blessed with good overall speed and the willingness to pinch for a shot .. generally moves the puck efficiently .. boasts a very nice slap shot .. proved that even when he gets beat he keeps his wits about him as he sported great timing diving for the puck and knocking it away to kill a prime scoring chance .. needs to protect the puck better when stickhandling in the danger areas .. Anthony Borelli (2007), G, Green
Sparkled in 25 games with Salisbury School last season where he went 23-0-0 and a healthy Sv% of 0.939 and a GAA of 1.24 .. has very good feet and generally recovers well after the first shot .. looked a bit weak on his blocker side .. needs to stay on his feet longer as he isn't big enough to fill the net when he'd down on his knees .. thanks to a few soft goals that he knew he should have stopped his confidence decreased as the camp went along .. Was a member of St. Sebastian's last season where he recorded a losing record (11-12-0) .. communicates well with his defense .. sometimes gets caught over committing .. needs to work on picking up long shots, especially through traffic .. can be a bit lackadaisical when handling the puck at the side of the net .. looks like he needs more seasoning at his current level before he is ready for the next .. Played for the Dwight Mullin's Dallas Stars last season ..strong on his skates and is hard to stop once he has a full head of steam, however he's not blessed with an elite top gear .. valuable checker thanks to satisfactory mobility and acceleration .. displays good stickhandling ability and the strength to fight through contact while driving toward the net .. isn't opposed to running the goalie on occasion .. mediocre vision and playmaking ability .. Matthew Mangene (2007), F, Gold
Chipped in 30 points (28gp, 12-18-30) last season with the New York Jr. Bobcats .. exhibits elite speed, with an extra boost from his top gear .. very mobile and closes the gaps well on the forecheck .. will take the body, but rarely does it with any zest .. on more than a few occasions was able to parade a few slick moves in traffic and then slip through the defensive coverage for a scoring chance for either himself or his linemates .. at his best using his speed, but will be even more successful if he can add some power to his game .. Was on the Belmont Hill School team last year .. his twin brother, Sean, played on Team Maroon .. very good mobility and acceleration .. goes to the net without the puck .. uses an active stick to try and close down the passing and shooting lanes .. needs to try and buy his defense more time after winning the draw as the opposing center was able to edge by him relatively easily .. Played for the Omaha Lancers of the USHL (53gp, 11-12-23) .. admirable speed thanks to a long stride .. loves to finish his checks .. effective in the faceoff dot and will fight through the opposition center .. gets himself open to take the shot and boasts a dangerous slap shot that he can and did get low and on target .. very good work ethic away from the puck .. A member of Honeybaked last year and is undecided for the upcoming season .. skating doesn't stand out, however he has time to pull it together for his draft year .. passive without the puck and must show more urgency getting back in to the play .. communicates with his teammates, especially lining up when taking the draw .. bought plenty of time for the defender by taking the opposing center off the draw .. works hard on the penalty-killing unit .. Anthony Hayes (2007), F, Gold
Produced 41 points (73gp, 17-24-41) with Victory Honda last season .. unveils his superior overall speed when he charges down the wing .. gets a nice jump from his first few strides .. looks for and finds the holes .. moves the passing lanes until he can get an open lane to move the puck .. proved at the camp that if keeps his feet moving and goes to the net he will be rewarded as he was when his lone goal of the camp was a tap in .. can be guilty of trying of forcing passes through traffic .. Will be returning to the well known New York Apple Core next year after posting three points (39gp, 1-2-3) last year .. elusive stickhandler, but sometimes takes too many risks trying to carry it end-to-end .. plays with guts and won't shy away from traffic or dropping down to block a shot .. takes the man physically and will jump up for the open ice hit, however is far from big enough at 5'9 to be a physical presence .. isn't blessed with elite skating ability, but holds his own at this level .. Played for the Rochester Americans last season (50gp, 7-25-32) .. ties up his man effectively along the wall, however gets in trouble with his positioning one-on-one when the player is driving to the net .. solid slapper from the point ..not hesitant to dump the puck in and have his forwards go hard on the forecheck .. Scott Kishel (2007), D, Gold
A member of Virginia High School in 05-6 (27gp, 5-26-31) .. plugs up the lane with solid positioning .. surprisingly, given his 5'11-155 pound frame, takes the body well .. demonstrates good awareness in all areas .. solid skater and can move or carry the puck effectively to gain the offensive zone .. Edwin Shea (2008), D, Gold
possesses good hand-eye coordination .. showcases above average acceleration and will jump up and join the rush .. will also pinch in from the point for a loose puck .. showed off his splendid passing abilities by threading a marvelous breakaway pass through traffic and right on the tape of the intended target .. had some trouble playing the man and on more than one occasion was caught flat-footed which allowed the puckcarrier to go around him like a pylon .. Played on the NTDP-17 last season (60gp, 4-8-12) .. boasts a solid looking body, with first-class leg strength .. extremely strong on his skates and loves to hit .. will jump up in to open ice to deliver a bone-crushing blow, is basically like a seek and destroy missile in open ice .. had some issues allowing the puck to get away from him while carrying the puck .. a fearless competitor will do things like dropping down to block a shot and taking a hit to make a play .. given his size and skating ability he is definitely on the radar of scouts this season .. Dennis Brown (2007), D, Gold
A member of the LA Jr. Kings last year (65gp, 11-15-26) .. mobile with or without the puck and is skilled at avoiding the forecheck .. although isn't nearly as powerful as Theo Ruth, he can still deliver a solid enough hit to separate the player from the puck .. must be careful about his gap control as he tended to give up too much space on the puckcarrier coming down the wall moves the puck efficiently .. Played for the Madison Capitals in 2005-06 .. although not huge at 5'11-185lbs., uses his size well .. pretty nice glove and very good feet .. has the ability to recover fairly quickly after going down for the first shot .. stears the rebounds in to the corner .. needs to play against better competition to take his game to the next level .. A member of the Pittsburgh Predators last year (59gp, 16-19-35), but will be joining the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL this season .. son of former NHL player and Head Coach Ed Olczyk .. sports first class wheels that allow him to create turnovers on the forecheck .. brandishes a wrist shot that explodes off his stick and with time and work should become an offensive weapon .. showcases shifty moves at top speed .. is fairly responsible without the puck, but his defensive game is still maturing .. game is suited to the new NHL .. having famous bloodlines might get a few more doors opened, but without talent they eventually get it shut – however this kid deserves to be watched based on talent alone .. Trevor Nill (2007), F, Black
Physically mature, 6'3-185lbs., son of former NHL player and current Detroit Red Wings' assistant GM .. played for Compuware last season (53gp, 13-20-33) .. possesses above average acceleration and overall skating and when combined with his size makes him a challenge for defenders to block out of the play .. is blessed with a nice touch which allows him to give and take those important short passes in traffic .. showcases good awareness without the puck and although he only produced one goal has all the attributes of being a player that will chip in on offense .. works hard with or without the puck and overall is an extremely smart player .. not a gamebreaker, but definitely on most scout's radar for the 2007 Draft .. Robb Haider (2008), F, Black
A member of the Alaska Allstars last year (25gp, 15-20-35) .. takes the pass smoothly .. boasts an accurate wrist .. he has good mobility and acceleration, although whether he can do it all consistently with the puck might be another matter .. not overly strong on his skates and lacks the ability to inflict damage when he finishes his checks, which isn't shocking given his 5'8-160 pound frame .. will need the extra year his late birthdate provides to work on his overall game to be able to not only compete at the next level, but succeed .. Will be returning to Belmont Hill School this season (stats were unavailable) .. blessed with good feet, extremely mobile and light on his skates, although seems to lack an elite top gear with the puck .. displayed good effort on the forecheck and comes back hard on the back check, in fact his overall puck pursuit is one of his strengths .. noticeable on the ice as he was one of the few players with long hair .. Colin Wilson (2008), F, Black
A member of USA NTDP last season (68gp, 21-23-44) .. at first glance his skating looks tad stiff and his acceleration is average thanks in large part to a bit of a choppy stride out of the gates .. his wrist shot really takes off and is able to receive the pass and shoot in one smooth motion, yet doesn't have the softest hands around .. drives to the net with purpose .. demonstrates imagination and patience with the puck, especially in close .. also protects the puck well using his sturdy frame 6'1-205lbs .. active stick on the forecheck and works to get back to help with coverage in his zone .. Christian Oberbeck (2007), F, Black
Played for Brunswick School last season (25gp, 26-45-71) .. needs to play with more urgency .. uses an stick on the penalty-kill .. must get stronger on the puck and in general it is imperative to his further growth that he becomes much more involved physically as he tends to just use his stick to poke check .. not a bad player overall, just no particular area stands out .. Connor Moore (2008), F, Black
Produced 50 points (21gp, 19-31-50) for Bishop Hendricken High School last year .. already sports nice size at 6'2-185lbs as well as acceptable mobility and acceleration which allows him to get in quickly on the puckcarrier .. works hard away from the play .. will take the puck to the net with purpose, however doesn't unveil much imagination once he gets there .. is more of a mucker and grinder at the this juncture of his development .. Dean Chelios (2007), F, Black
A member of Cranbook High School last year .. son of Chris Chelios .. looks like he could add a few pounds to his 6'1 frame .. not opposed to playing some chin music with an elbows, yet wasn't undisciplined for the most part .. swift skater that moves well in all direction .. showcases some offensive imagination, especially handling the puck .. will get behind the coverage to try and get open for the "home run" pass .. puts pressure on the pointman .. goes to the net looking for garbage .. will look for his teammates that are open and usually moves the puck at the right time .. not really big enough to be parking himself in front of the net very effectively .. Tyler Thompson (2007), F, Black
Shifty, playmaking forward with the ability to score chipped in with 58 points (28gp, 29-29-58) for Benilde St. Margaret's last season .. a survivor of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, which he suffered from ages 9-10, and is currently in remission .. a superior overall skater, with good acceleration and the moves to beat people in traffic .. buys his defense time off the draw .. very mobile with or without the puck .. needs to protect the puck better, especially with regards to making sure not to turn it over in his own zone .. solid on his skates and hits with authority .. Patrick Johnson (2007), F, Black
On the Memorial High School last season .. uses his superior quickness to close down time and space on the puckcarrier .. works hard without the puck and supports the defense well .. not very big at 5'9-145lbs and must get stronger on his skates .. does have a nose for the net, but due to the aforementioned lack of strength can be boxed out relatively easily by a sturdy, well positioned defender .. at his best when he's moving his feet and parading his mobility .. Matt Tinordi (2008), F, Black
Played for the Washington Jr. Nationals last year (42gp, 9-8-17) ,.. son of former NHLer Mark Tinordi .. shifty skater that can cut back on a dime .. stickhandles well at full speed and keeps his head up to be able to make a play .. not hesitant to drive the net, but hands haven't quite caught up with his legs .. takes a hit and keeps his feet moving after first contact .. must show more discipline and not take stupid or ill-timed penalties .. the extra year before he is eligible for the draft should do the trick as his game matures .. Colin Haas (2007), F, Black
Produced 59 points (61gp, 23-36-59) for the Junior Dallas Stars in 05-6 .. lanky looking forward, 6'3-190lbs boasts an exceptional wingspan .. first few steps look a tad sluggish, yet isn't a poor skater once he gets going and is quite strong on his skates .. willing to dump and chase and closes the gaps well .. does a commendable job leading his linemates with his passes .. taks the pass smoothly .. unveils solid skills on the draw .. Bryan Brutlag (2007), D, Black
Brutlag will be returning to the Holy Angels after producing 26 points (2-22-26) in 23 games last season .. related to Fido Purper, who played hockey for the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1970's .. displays good acceleration, mobility and is strong on his skates which allows him to keep his area clear .. he also has the strength to make puckcarriers pay a price .. demonstrates some offensive creativity and can dangle with the puck when given the opportunity .. must pick his spots of when to try to hold or slow up a player at the point, because he can be guilty of being overly aggressive and taking himself out of the play .. Nick Bailen (2008), D, Black
Played for the USHL's Indiana Ice last season (61gp, 1-7-8) .. takes the pass smoothly .. wrist shot is heavy and his slap shot is almost effortless .. is solid on his skates and has the strength to stand a player up at the line .. possesses very good acceleration and overall speed and is fairly effective at joining the rush .. pretty good at eluding the forecheck .. Jonathan Blum (2007), D, Black
One of the better defensive prospects out of the Western Hockey League (61gp, 7-17-24) .. demonstrates good overall speed and is strong on his skates, although a better jump out of the blocks would be helpful .. must work on releasing his shots quicker .. will join the rush and has the quickness to even try and lead it .. delivers hard breakout passes that are generally on target .. Jarrett Galbreath (2008), D, Black
Played for the Red River High School last season (24gp, 4-23-27) .. young defender is able to move the puck crisply to difuse the pressure .. will slide in from the point to take a shot, however rarely does it at the expense of his defensive responsibilities .. that is not to say that his defensive game doesn't need work especially in his own zone, because it clearly does given his penchent for not being aware of opponents slipping behind coverage .. is fairly efficient at getting his point shot through .. thanks to a late birthday has time to refine his game .. Doug Leaverton (2007), D, Black
A member of the Mahoning Valley Phantoms last season (57gp, 2-2-4) .. monsterous defender takes the body well .. lacks average acceleration as well as not being the most agile defender and therefor should be wary of wandering, because he simply can't recover quick enough .. once he gets up to speed he's a solid skater from A to B .. will jump in from the point .. solid wrist shot .. communicates well with his defensive partner .. Chris Walker (2007), D, Black
Played for the Phoenix Polar Bears last season (75gp, 45-60-105) .. solid body at 6'1-190 and hits with authority .. needs to improve his stickhandling and isn't overly strong on his skates, however he does have the jets to be reasonably effective carrying the puck up the ice .. exhibits some oomph behind his shots .. defensive coverage is a dog's breakfast as he failed to pick up his man in front of the net on more than a few occasions .. not the most accurate passer .. Ryan Garvin (2008), G, Black
Backstopped Fairfield Prep to nine wins out of his 10 games and showcased a sparkling 0.960 Sv% and 0.88 GAA .. pretty good at deflecting shots in to the corners and out of slot .. quite proficient with the art of the poke-check and showed it off more than once to eliminate a glorious scoring chance (although might want to be careful about not over using the skill as he progresses) .. USA Select 17 totals (Sv% 0.889, GAA 2.82).
Andrew Margolin (2007), G, Black
Part of a strong Taft School last season where he registered 14 wins out of 17 games played (Sv% 0.932, GAA 1.81) .. his ability to recover after the first shot needs to be upgraded, especially with regards to getting over to be square to the shooter .. not bad on straight-ahead shots, but problems ensue when the shooter gets him moving side-to-side .. other areas to improve are not going down so quickly and his rebound control ..
