Tampa Recalls Gaetan Royer

TAMPA BAY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled right wing Gaetan Royer from Springfield of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis, it was announced by General Manager Jay Feaster.
Royer, 26, has appeared in 40 games with Springfield this season, recording six goals, four assists and 112 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound native of Donnaconna, Quebec, has also appeared in 33 games with Pensacola of the East Coast Hockey League this season, recording 13 goals, 10 assists and 129 penalty minutes. Signed as a free agent by the Lightning on October 23, 2001, Royer appeared at the Lightning's 2001 training camp as an invitee after spending the 2000-01 season with the Calder Cup champion Saint John Flames of the American Hockey League. He also has skated for Michigan, Grand Rapids and Indianapolis of the International Hockey League and Jacksonville of the East Coast Hockey League.
Signed as a free agent by the Calgary Flames on September 12, 2000, Royer appeared in 126 games with Sherbrooke and Beauport of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 1994-95 and 1995-96, recording 47 goals, 61 assists and 427 penalty minutes.
