Talbot, Russo Vrana - QMJHL Players of the Month

The Québec Major Junior Hockey League announced its last selection for the offensive, defensive and rookie players of the month for the 2002-2003 regular season.
For a second moth in a row, Maxime Talbot from the Hull Olympiques is the offensive player of the month in the QMJHL. During the last month of the regular season, Maxime scored 10 goals, added 8 assists for 18 points in 8 games and +12. Maxime Talbot, left centre player from Lemoyne City, was the 8th round pick by the Pittsburgh Penguins at the last NHL Entry Draft in 2002. Guillaume Fournier from the Victoriaville Tigres is second with 9 goals, 8 assists and 17 points in 8 games. Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau from the Sherbrooke Castors is at the third rank with 8 goals, 8 assists and 16 points in 8 games and +8.

The Acadie-Bathurst Titan Adam Russo is the best defensive of the month of March in the QMJHL. The talented left-handed goalie, who is from Montréal, ended with a record of 4 wins and no lost in 6 games. He preserved a 1.78 goals-against average and a .9396 save percentage. Left defenseman Jean-François David of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, is second with 3 goals and 8 assists for 11 points in 7 games and +11. Defenseman Aaron Johnson from the Québec Remparts is third with 3 goals, 10 assists in 9 games and +6.
The young and talented left centre player of the Halifax Mooseheads, Petr Vrana, is the RDS rookie of the month for a second month in a row. Petr scored 3 goals, added 8 assists for a total of 11 points in 8 games. Left centre player from the Victoriaville Tigres, Daniel Sparre, is just behind with 6 goals and 3 assists in 8 games. Finally, left-winger Mathieu Melanson from the Chicoutimi Saguenéens is third with 4 goals, 5 assists in 9 games.
