The Guelph Storm have a stud on their hands in the poised, physical blueliner .. listed at 6'0 and just under 215lbs .. physical blueliner displayed terrific gap control in his own zone .. moves splendidly at the point and will change the passing and shooting lanes in order to create a clear path to the intended target .. shows great vision on the ice .. boasts the overall speed and stickhandling skills to go end-to-end .. seems to know when to carry the puck out or deliver a tape-to-tape pass to alleviate the pressure from an opponent's forecheck .. has a quick stick .. a regular in all situations and had nice chemistry with Washington Capitals' prospect Karl Alzner in the last game of the 2007 Canada/Russia Super Series. Zach Boychuk (2008), C, Lethbridge
The Lethbridge Hurricane's speedy pivot isn't hesitant to shoot the puck as his four goals in the Canada/Russia Super Series proved .. listed at 5'9-175 .. has a nose for the net and the knack to be able to slip checks thanks to an explosive and elusive skating ability .. can be guilty of overhandling the puck on occasion and still needs to learn to distribute the puck more .. a regular on the powerplay .. at his best when he plays with desire and uses his elite speed .. likely will hear his name called early at the upcoming NHL Entry Draft. (7gp, 4-2-6)
Luke Schenn (2008), D, Kelowna
Physically intimidating rearguard is listed at 6'2-210, but plays even bigger .. locks up the puck carrier on the one-on-one .. looked comfortable partnered with Florida Panthers' prospect, Keaton Ellerby in the last game of the 2007 Canada/Russia Super Series .. doesn't possess lightning fast foot speed, but is still solid carrying the puck thanks to elite strength .. displays a willingness to stick up for his teammates .. a mainstay on the penalty-kill. (8gp, 0-0-0)
Vyacheslav Voinov (2008), D, Chelyabinsk
Russian blueliner played for Chelyabinsk last season .. listed at 5'11-180 and didn't look as out of place in the Canada/Russia Super Series as some of his teammates .. generally does a nice job playing the man and closing the gap relatively quickly .. economical skater, but moves well .. swallows up loose pucks efficiently .. not opposed to laying the lumber or delivering a spear to the midsection of an opponent that wanders to near .. displays grit and shows he'll stand up for himself when challenged physically.
