A mobile defenseman with terrific speed and offensive instincts … turns
on a dime, but can be prone to lazy, big turns ... reaches top speed in no time,
always covering his man … very good mobility and smarts, is never left
behind … can get caught chasing his man, but has no problems catching up
… his small size forces him to use finesse to outsmart his opponents …
has a hard low slapshot he targets to the blocker side of the goaltender …
is always moving to set up for a clear shot … always out thinking the opponent,
White leads the rush and sees the ice very well … has no problem pulling
away from the play … never afraid to shoot but chooses his spots well …
if he does not have a clear shot he will pass to his defensive partner and reposition
himself … passes are crisp and hard and right on the tape … never
panics with the puck and knows where his teammates are at all times … can
get preoccupied with the offensive game, getting caught pinching, but uses his
magnificent speed to regain his position … shows great confidence in his
offensive abilities but can be passive and tentative in the defensive zone …
needs to work on positioning and decisions in the offensive zone that cause
him to get caught deep … can be prone to waiting for the play to come to
him … overall an intriguing package that has some excellent potential if
he shows more willingness to do the dirty work of a defenseman.
