QMJHL three stars of the week - DeLuca, Veilleux and Carrier

On the road Friday night for the first of a back to back against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, Anthony DeLuca the Rimouski Océanic forward, tallied 2 assists in a 5-4 win. Then on Saturday, DeLuca was named the first star of the game with 3 points (2 goals and 1 assist) and 9 shots total on goal. He scored the goal that tied the game 3-3 which forced overtime, ultimately ending with a 4-3 win for Rimouski in a shootout.
Steven Veilleux, the 18-year-old goaltender was in nets for the Victoriaville Tigres for their two wins this week. Veilleux had his first ever QMJHL shutout on Sunday, with 19 saves in a 1-0 victory against the Quebec Ramparts. He allowed only one goal on Friday's 4-1 win, when the Shawinigan Cataractes took advantage of a poweplay.
Sunday, against the Sherbrooke Phoenix, the Gatineau Olympiques defenseman, Alexandre Carrier, registered 4 assists in their 6-2 win. The last time this many assists had been tallied by an Olympiques defenseman was in January 2009 by Steven Delisle. One of the goals assisted was by teamate Taylor Burke who scored the 3rd goal of the game. This has been Carrier's best offensive game since his start in the QMJHL 12 months ago. He was never on the ice during a goal by the opposing team this weekend, which bring his +/- to +4, the best in the League and equal to Danick Emond of the Moncton Wildcats, Aaron Hoyles of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada and the captain of his team, Taylor Burke.
