A breakout specialist who anchors the point with confidence, and does not hesitate to pinch in .. constantly evaluating opportunities to advance the puck and create scoring chances, seemingly envisioning his actions well ahead of time .. gets the job done defensively, but the 20-year-old must prove he can perform at the next level
Joey Haddad (2007), RW, Prince Edward Island
A third or fourth-line role player who must show greater confidence along the boards and in the corners .. looks to be uncomfortable while in possession of the puck .. works hard to get into position but is rough around the edges in terms of his skating, and composure.
Antoine Lafleur (2007), G, Prince Edward Island
A big goaltender that focuses on looking big in the net .. not shy when it comes to challenging the shooter .. a wide leg span makes him difficult to beat down low on rebounds in close .. overall has solid rebound control.. moves post-to-post well compared to most goalies his size .. gets beat when he commits, losing his bearings and fails to stay square to the shooter .. patient style, in the Roberto Luongo tradition .. should be among the top five goaltenders chosen in the 2007 NHL Draft.
Martin Latal (Phx), RW, Prince Edward Island
A tenacious player, but manhandled physically .. looks to be smooth while carrying the puck but is easily pushed off course .. must play with greater creativity to compensate for his lack of physical strength .. excellent speed and skating ability, but cannot utilize his tools .. career has already stalled at the junior level he must get stronger on the puck and develop an ability to use the body.
Logan MacMillan (2007), C, Halifax
Displays more finesse than the average two-way forward does .. a versatile player who is a strong, fluid skater with a complementary pair of hands .. demonstrates solid passing skills finding teammates in full flight .. not afraid to go into the corners or work along the boards .. has great chemistry with Jakub Voracek .. should not last beyond the first three rounds, as his game is conducive to the pro game.
Jakub Voracek (2007), RW, Halifax
One of the players in the league worth the price of admission .. carried the puck coast-to-coast on several occasions, reaching the opposition net each time .. blazing breakout speed leaves other skaters motionless .. impossible to predict his moves with the puck, keeping his opponents (and teammates) guessing .. has great physical strength as a puck carrier .. has great vision, and one of the league's premier set-up men .. has a hard shot, but can improve his accuracy .. a constant threat when anchoring the point on the power play .. working hard to defy his detractors who criticize his defense using his speed to make a pretty play on the backcheck by coming back to fight the puck off a PEI forward in the neutral zone.
