QMJHL Players of the Week - Meier, Pickard and Green

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, December 14, 2015 - Timo Meier, Reilly Pickard and Luke Green were named today the three stars of the week for December 7 to 13, 2015.

Halifax Mooseheads forward, Timo Meier, is the first star of the week. The San Jose Sharks' prospect only played one game this week but tallied 2 goals and 4 assists. The Mooseheads beat the Saint John Sea Dogs 8-5 while Meier scored 5 of his 6 points at even strength and finished the game with a +/- of +5. He was also named the first star of the game and recorded a career high for points in a single game. He now has 36 points in 23 games. Meier is now in Europe where he'll be representing his home country of Switzerland at the World Junior Championship.

Reilly Pickard, Acadie-Bathurst Titan goaltender, is the second star. The Halifax native won both games he started while keeping a goals against average of 1.50 and a save percentage of 0.939. Sunday in a divisional matchup against the Charlottetown Islanders, Pickard was named the third star while stopping 21 shots in a 2-1 victory. This win helped the Titan close the gap on the Islanders for 16th place overall as they are now 2 points behind.

The third star of the week is awarded to the Saint John Sea Dogs' defenseman, Luke Green. In 3 games, he scored 5 goals on 12 shots and maintained a +2 rating. The 2016 NHL draft eligible player reached the career 50 points plateau on Wednesday by scoring 2 power play goals in a 6-2 win over the Moncton Wildcats. He also helped his team keep Conor Garland off the score sheet for the first time this season. Friday, he scored a career high 3 goals and was named the third star as the Sea Dogs lost 8-5 to the Halifax Mooseheads.
