QMJHL Players of the Week - Marcotte, Garland and Billia

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, March 16, 2015 - Louick Marcotte, Conor Garland and Julio Billia were named today the three stars of the week for March 9 to 15, 2015.
The first star of the week is awarded to Gatineau Olympiques' forward Louick Marcotte. In 2 games, he scored three goals, added 6 assists and maintained a +8 rating. Friday, against the Drummondville Voltigeurs, he was chosen the first star of the game in a 5-2 win. He scored his 33rd goal of the season while adding 2 assists. In an offensive game against the Victoriaville Tigres on Sunday, the Olympiques came out victorious while Marcotte tied his personal best with 6 points in the game and had a +7 rating. He passed the 250 career point mark in that game which was his 275th junior game.

Moncton Wildcats' forward, Conor Garland is the second star of the week. He recorded 8 points, including four goals and posted a +6 rating in two games. In both game he played this week, he recorded 4 points and was named the first star. Against the Saint John Sea Dogs, he scored the game winner in an 8-4 win and was responsible for 7 of the team's 40 shots on goal. On Saturday, this time against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, he recorded his ninth 4 point game of the season and at the same time got his 35th goal and 125th points of the season. He is still the league leader in points and has a 23 point lead on second place.
The Chicoutimi Saguenéens' goaltender, Julio Billia is the third star of the week. He helped his team get 3 out of a possible 4 points against divisional leaders. He kept a goals against-average of 1.44, a save percentage of .948 and faced 58 shots. Wednesday against the Rimouski Oceanic, he lost 4-3 in the shootout but was named the third star. Friday, on the road against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, he made 23 saves to got his third shutout of the season in a 2-0 win.
