QMJHL Players of the Week - Ehlers, Sprong and Billia

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, March 9, 2015 - Nikolaj Ehlers, Daniel Sprong and Julio Billia were named today the three stars of the week for March 2 to 8, 2015.
The first star of the week is awarded to Halifax Mooseheads forward Nikolaj Ehlers. In 3 games, he scored 5 goals, added 7 assists and posted a +8 rating. He participated in 75% of his team's goals during that span. He was named the first star of the game in a 7-4 win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan after recording 1 goal and 4 assists. On Friday against the Charlottetown Islanders, the Danish forward registered 3 more points in a 6-5 loss. Yesterday, Ehlers recorded his 5th hat trick of the season against the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles. He now sits 4th in league scoring with 94 points in only 46 games.

Charlottetown Islanders forward Daniel Sprong is the second star of the week. He recorded 11 points, including six goals in four games. Three of his points came on game-winning goals. Monday, he scored 2 goals and added an assist in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Moncton Wildcats. Against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Sunday, he scored 2 goals including the game winner in overtime and added two assists to lead his team to a 4-3 win.
Chicoutimi Saguenéens goaltender Julio Billia is the third star of the week. Billia posted wins in both starts, registering a goals-against-average of 1.49 and a save percentage of .955. He was named the first star of the game on Friday after making 30 saves in a 4-1 victory over the Victoriaville Tigres. On Sunday, he pushed away 34 Océanic shots to lead the Saguenéens to a 3-2 overtime win.
