QMJHL Players of the Week - Dauphin, Beauvillier and Whitney

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, November 3rd, 2014 - Laurent Dauphin, Anthony Beauvillier and Brandon Whitney were named today, the three stars of the week for October 27 to November 2, 2014.
The first star is awarded to the Chicoutimi Cataractes forward, Laurent Dauphin. In two games, the team captain tallied six points, including three goals, kept a +3 rating and won 60% of the face-offs taken. Friday in a 7-5 loss against the Baie-Comeau Drakkar, he scored a goal and added an assist. Against the Sherbrooke Phoenix Saturday, his team won the game 5-1 thanks to his performance of 2 goals and 2 assists which earned him the first star of the game.

The Shawinigan Cataractes forward, Anthony Beauvillier is the second star of the week. In two games against two of the best teams in the league, he got 5 points. Friday, in Quebec City, Beauvillier scored a shorthanded goal and added an assist, but it was not enough, the Cataractes were defeated 5-3 against the Remparts. Back home on Saturday against the Rimouski Oceanic, he had a goal and two assists, including one on the overtime winning goal for a 5-4 win. He was named the first star of the game.
Brandon Whitney, goaltender for the Victoriaville Tigres is the third star of the week. In 2 games, Whitney maintained a record of one win and one shootout loss, a goals against average of 0.96 and blocked 51 of 53 shots for a save percentage of .962. Wednesday against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, he stopped 24 shots for a 4-1 win. Against the Drummondville Voltigeurs Saturday, Whitney was named the first star in a 2-1 shootout loss.
