QMJHL Players of the Week

Michael Lambert and Josh Tordjman are the players of the week in the QMJHL.
The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced its players of the week, offensive and defensive, from Monday, October 13 to Sunday, October 19, 2003.

Left winger Michael Lambert, of the PEI Rocket, is the offensive player of the week in the QMJHL. Michaël who belongs to the Montreal Canadiens, scored 4 goals, added 5 assists for 9 points in 3 games, 18 shots on goal and +6.
In a 7-3 win over the Quebec Remparts on Tuesday, October 14, he gets 3 assists. In a 6-0 win against the Val-d’Or Foreurs on Friday, he scored 1 goal and added 2 assists. Lambert, who is from Trois-Rivières, scored his 8, 9 and 10th goals of the current season in a 6-3 win over the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies. Teammate Pierre-André Bureau did also very well with 2 goals and 3 assists.
Finally, after a productive week, Michaël is at the 4th rank of the QMJHL scorers with 25 points in 12 games. With 3 wins this week, the PEI Rocket is at the 2nd rank of the Atlantic Division, 3 points behind the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles who lead with 22 points.

Right handed goaltender Josh Tordjman of the Victoriaville Tigres is the defensive player of the week in the QMJHL. Josh posted a 2-1-0 record last week, along with a 2.00 goals against average, .937 save percentage and 1 shutout.
Tordjman made 26 saves and was named first star in a 3-0 win over the Shawinigan Cataractes on October 14. It was his first shutout of the current season ad second in career. This win put an end to the eight straight lost of the Tigres. Josh made 35 saves and was named second star in a win over the Drummondville Voltigeurs. He allowed only one goal during the 2nd and 3rd period while the Tigres were dominated 13-7 and 20-11 for the shots on goal. Yesterday, Victoriaville lost 6-4 before the Drummondville Voltigeurs. Tordjman allowed 5 goals on 32 shots, 1 goal scored in empty net, and received 17 shots in the third period.
Finally, the Victoriaville Tigres won their 3rd and 4th wins of the current season. They will visit the Shawinigan Cataractes tomorrow at the Jacques-Plante Arena.
