Patrick OSullivan Interview

Patrick O'Sullivan has ventured through some tough times growing up, but on the Saturday of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft in Nashville his past finally became the past as he reached his childhood goal of reaching the NHL as the Minnesota Wild, selected him 56th overall.
Patrick recently took the time to answer these few questions on his experience in Nashville this past weekend for McKeen's Hockey.

McKeen's: Who came with you to Nashville for the Draft?
O'Sullivan: My grand parents, my mom, 2 sisters, and I had two guys from my team down and four other buddies. It was a great experience something I'll never forget.
McKeen's: What was it like for you in the final days and hours leading up to the NHL Draft in Nashville?
O'Sullivan: It was nerve racking, especially for me because I had no idea where I was gonna go. A lot of teams where worried about my family situation with my father so that's why I went a lilttle later then I had expected to go.
McKeen's: What was the feeling having to wait around to be selected?
O'Sullivan: It was tough, like I said I didn't know what to expect, I was a little disapointed as it started to slide into the second round, but once I got picked it was a great feeling. Going to the Minnesota Wild is awesome too, I mean there couldn't be a better place to go for myself.
McKeen's: What was your first thoughts when you heard your name called?
O'Sullivan: I was extremely excited, I had to wait a little longer then I thought but when I was called it was like something I have never experienced before ... just getting drafted was a great expierence.
McKeen's: What were your feelings putting on the Minnesota Wild jersey?
O'Sullivan: Pure excitement for sure. They have a first class organization and I have a great chance to play there in a few years so I couldn't be more excited.
McKeen's: How do you feel about getting the chance to play for Minnesota and what do you think you will bring to the team in the future?
O'Sullivan: Well it's going to be great going to an nhl camp this year and meeting all the guys and seeing what the show is all about. Hopefully I can play for Minnesota in the not so distant future, and I'm hoping I can really contribute to the hockey team and just get the chance to live my dream.
We'd like to thank Patrick O'Sullivan for taking the time to talk with him and we wish him the best of luck for the future.
