OHL: Ryan, Richardson Fuse Owen Sound

Second in impact only to the London Knights' duo of Corey Perry and Dylan Hunter (1-2 in OHL scoring), Owen Sound Attack forwards Brad Richardson (Colorado Avalanche property) and Bobby Ryan (eligible for the 2005 NHL draft) are third and sixth, respectively, in league points. We provide the scoop on the duo as well as other Owen Sound standouts such as the massively underrated Andrej Sekera.
Bobby Ryan (2005), RW, Owen Sound

As good as advertised but has limitations .. an aggressive backchecker and uses his body to screen guys off their path to the puck .. very good control of his body; very sturdy and well-balanced .. can see the developing play out of the corner of his eye .. his feeds are perfectly orchestrated and timed .. timing and control of passes are elite .. got his body in front of a clearing attempt at the opposing blueline and redirected it towards the net but just out of his reach .. surprises with deceptive agility on the puck but is not an end-to-end threat like Benoit Pouliot can be .. an outstanding passer .. has a goal scorer's touch around the net but will look to pass when a feed is a higher percentage option .. needs to be more intense physically to qualify as a true power forward .. while immovable he is not really intimidating in terms of his demeanor .. nice long reach and covers a lot of space .. at this point he looks like a surefire top-five pick.
Brad Richardson (Col), C, Owen Sound
He and Bobby Ryan complement each other perfectly but neither is at the mercy of the other to produce .. has a quick stick and spectacular offensive awareness and instincts .. has a big-time slap shot with a quick release .. often seen planting himself in front of the crease with Ryan winning a puck battle in behind the net to make the feed with Richardson already waiting in the slot .. often slips into scoring positions undetected due to slippery skating skills where he can score with a flick of the wrist .. Ryan does a lot of the dirty work for him .. an excellent presence with the puck; very smooth and confident.
Stefan Ruzicka (Phi), LW, Owen Sound
Fleet of foot but often does not show the full extent of his skating, keeping something back .. loves to shoot even when he should be passing .. quick, sharp release .. does not get involved in traffic very much but is not afraid to give a guy a facewash .. good attacking instincts but energy level is unimpressive when not in possession .. needs to get stronger on the puck .. refusal to jump at a loose puck resulted in an odd-man break the other way .. giddyup improves when the Attack are down on the scoreboard which has not been very often this season .. looks a bit spoiled with the abundance of offensive help and the overall team success .. lacks desperation and dedication.
Andrej Sekera (Buf), D, Owen Sound
Maybe the best drafted prospect no one is paying attention to .. a jack of all trades in terms of being able to step into virtually any desired role a defenseman could be asked of .. uses his body well to muscle guys off to the side and can really lay guys out into the boards .. pitched in smartly to help out Bobby Ryan who spun and fed him from the crease area for the one-timer .. his most impressive trait is his timing .. does not overcommit; knows when to help out the offense and is quick to get back into position .. quick feet and moves well to all angles .. can take the puck a long way, such as when he drove with the puck from centre ice, all the way to the net, and was forced to cut to behind the net and centre the puck from the other side .. very quick, aggressive and superbly balanced .. can set up a play and make a guy pay .. stuck like glue to the big Bryan Bickell .. took the body and gave no space.
Kyle Lamb (2005), D, Owen Sound
Needs to strengthen his upper body, especially to handle his man in along the boards without holding .. quick feet, fluid takeoff .. can move the puck with nice turns and cuts .. moves well backwards .. must get stronger on his feet to withstand the punishment .. top speed is only okay .. trusted to play in a lot of key situations ... safe, clean decisions with the puck .. keeps his energy level high by moving his feet.
Bob Sanguinetti (2006), D, Owen Sound
Start-up speed could improve .. a little stiff in the way he moves his body but has good hands and a smooth passing touch .. lanky and still growing into his body .. nice fluidity and fluid turns.
Payton Liske (2007), LW, Owen Sound
Limited viewing as his icetime was low .. good straightaway speed .. crisp, hard wrist shot he can score with .. spacious body, fluid stride.
Derek Joslin (2005), D, Ottawa
Has a good eye for the developing play and keeps his man in front of him .. feeds are very crisp and accurate; easy to handle for his teammates .. still cannot muster a one-time release to save his life .. his turns could use better fluidity; when he has to change direction from forwards to backwards he looks sloppy .. admirable poise and cool aura with the puck and is able to generate some momentum on the rush .. should get drafted but does not have the kind of size and jam one would look for in a day-one pick.
