Justin Kea (2012) C, Saginaw Spirit

Drafted in the first round, 13th overall by the Saginaw Spirit in 2010 .. won Gold with Team Ontario in the 2010-2011 WHC .. propelled by a long stride and quick first-step quickness .. a speedy centre with size .. defensively responsible and crafty when it comes to lifting the stick of opposing players in the slot, taking away scoring opportunities .. a good positional player on the penalty kill .. displays effort and hustle while backchecking .. likes to play the body and will throw hits to win puck races .. will use his long reach to tie up sticks in his own end .. a deceptively slick puckhandler .. will direct himself to the corners to engage in physical play and will hit often, finishing his checks .. multiple-hit shifts are common .. overall, a very strong defensive forward with potential offensive upside.
Jake Paterson (2012), G, Saginaw Spirit
2009-2010 saw Paterson backstop his way to 15 shutouts with the Toronto Marlies Minor Midget squad of the GTHL .. in 2010-2011, Paterson boasted the best save percentage (.921) in the NOJHL with the Soo Eagles and also won Gold with Team Ontario in the World Hockey Challenge .. has good awareness of the play as it develops around him .. at times, he exposes the top of the net too often .. needs to work on rebound control .. has quick reflexes and relies on them often.. transitions to a vertical-horizontal stance (VHS) very rapidly and seems to understand when to use it .. an agile and flexible goaltender .. stick side is a possible weakness.
Daniel Altshuller (2012), G, Oshawa Generals
Altshuller won the starting goaltending assignment from Jake Paterson at the 2010-2011 World Hockey Challenge .. worked his way to having the best save percentage (.947) as well as the best goals-against average (1.39) at the WHC en route to winning Gold .. standing at 6-foot-3, Altshuller takes up quite a bit of space in front of the net .. relies on size and positioning to make saves .. very economical with movements in the crease .. able to get his stick to the ice quickly to seal off wrap around attempts .. shows patience in staying with the puckcarrier .. instinctively adjusts angles to remain square with the shooter .. will occasionally drop down too early .. beat often high glove side and that may be a weakness.
