OHL Player of the Week - Tyler Bertuzzi

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Detroit Red Wings prospect Tyler Bertuzzi of the Guelph Storm is the Pioneer Energy OHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 9 scoring two goals and six assists for eight points in three games.
Bertuzzi set a Storm franchise record on Sunday with a career-high seven points scoring two goals and five assists as part of a 9-4 victory over the London Knights. Wearing a special Remembrance Day jersey, Bertuzzi earned first star honours netting the game-winner in a five-goal Storm first period. Along with teammates Robby Fabbri (3G 3A) and Pius Suter (3G 2A), the trio combined for 18 points in the contest. Earlier in the week Bertuzzi collected one assist despite a 3-1 loss to the Saginaw Spirit on Friday, and was held without a point on Thursday in an 11-1 loss to the Knights.

Bertuzzi, a 19-year-old from Sudbury, ON, is playing in his fourth OHL season with the Storm. Signed to an entry-level contract by the Red Wings in October, Bertuzzi was chosen in the second round of the 2013 NHL Draft. He has 23 points in 17 games so far this season and will represent the OHL in the SUBWAY Super Series November 13 in Peterborough.
Also considered for the award this week was last week's winner and 2015 NHL Draft prospect Mitch Marner of the London Knights who led the league with 10 points in three games scoring three goals with seven assists, while Andrew Mangiapane of the Barrie Colts collected seven points in two games scoring four goals and three assists. In goal, Dallas Stars prospect Brent Moran of the Niagara IceDogs went 2-0-0-0 with a shutout victory posting a goals-against-average of 1.00 and save percentage of .970.
