OHL Player of the Week - Connor McDavid

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that 2015 NHL Draft prospect Connor McDavid of the Erie Otters is the Pioneer Energy OHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 26 after recording nine points in three games scoring three goals and six assists with a plus-minus rating of plus-7.
McDavid recorded a pair of four-point games last week and helped the Otters continue their tremendous start to the 2014-15 OHL campaign with three straight wins giving the club an 11-0-0-1 record for 23 points atop the Western Conference standings. The league's top scorer netted a goal with three assists on Wednesday as first star of an 8-4 victory over the Niagara IceDogs in Buffalo, then picked up a shorthanded goal on the road Friday in the Otters' 6-4 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. McDavid finished the week by extending his point-streak to 12 games on Saturday earning first star honours with a goal and three assists as part of an Otters' 8-1 victory over the host Sudbury Wolves.

McDavid, a 17-year-old from Newmarket, ON, is playing in his third OHL season with the Otters. Chosen first overall in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection, McDavid is now a top prospect for the 2015 NHL Draft. He currently leads the OHL with 34 points in 12 games including 11 goals and 23 assists after finishing fourth in league scoring last season with 99 points including 28 goals and 71 assists in 56 games.
Also considered for the award this week were a pair of London Knights' forwards including Arizona Coyotes prospect Max Domi and Montreal Canadiens prospect Michael McCarron who each had nine points in three games both scoring twice with seven assists. In goal, Carolina Hurricanes prospect Alex Nedeljkovic of the Plymouth Whalers went 2-1-0-0 with a pair of shutout victories posting a goals-against-average of 1.34 and save percentage of .948.
