OHL Player of the Week - Cameron Brace

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced that Belleville Bulls overage forward Cameron Brace is the OHL Player of the Week for the week ending March 16 after scoring six goals and two assists for eight points in three games with a plus-minus rating of plus-7.
Brace put the finishing touches on a five-year OHL career with three straight multi-point games helping the Bulls make a final push for an Eastern Conference playoff position. His week was highlighted by his second career four-goal game recorded last Wednesday night that included a penalty shot marker to complete his hat-trick claiming first star honours in a 6-2 win over the Peterborough Petes. On Friday night Brace contributed a goal and an assist earning the game's second star but the Bulls fell 3-2 in overtime to the Oshawa Generals. He also scored a goal and an assist in his final OHL game on Saturday night at home to the Sudbury Wolves and was named second star in the Bulls' 7-4 win to finish the season.

Brace, a 20-year-old from Markham, ON, played five OHL seasons finishing his career with 42 games as a member of the Bulls where he was second in team scoring with 31 goals and 25 assists for 56 points in a total of 55 games this season. He played 265 career games beginning with the Owen Sound who selected him in the eighth round of the 2009 OHL Priority Selection and went on to collect 206 points including 106 goals and 100 assists also winning an OHL Championship with the Attack in 2011.
Also considered for the award this week was Washington Capitals prospect Andre Burakovsky of the Erie Otters with nine points including four goals and five assists in three games, and Winnipeg Jets prospect Scott Kosmachuk of the Guelph Storm who scored five goals with three assists for eight points in three games. In goal, 2014 NHL Draft prospect Devin Williams of the Otters won twice in two games with a goals-against-average of 1.42 and save percentage of .943.
