Ouzas, an 18-year-old native of Hamilton, was named OHL Player of the Week on December 13 and was the OHL Goaltender of the Month after posting a 6-0-1 record with a 1.27 goals against average in seven starts in December.
The OHL Goaltender of the Year is awarded to the league's most outstanding goaltender as selected by OHL coaches and general managers. Teams were not permitted to vote for a goaltender from their own hockey club. Goaltenders received five points for a first place vote, three points for a second place vote and one point for a third place vote.
Ouzas received 50 points in the voting process, followed by runner-up Adam Dennis of the London Knights, who had 41 points and Gerald Coleman of the London Knights was third with 39 points.
Ouzas is the Ontario Hockey League nominee for the CHL Goaltender of the Year Award at the Canadian Hockey League Awards ceremony.
