An extremely underrated defensive prospect .. all-around force with soft hands and a low, hard shot from the point .. readily attacks the net on the pinch .. not overly physical but is able to contain his man due to his quickness and strong positional play .. needs to add upper body muscle .. smart, deceptive stride, only expending as much energy as needed .. can quickly turn on the jets and catapult out of the zone.
Bob Sanguinetti (2006), D, Owen Sound
Confidence level continues to grow .. tremendous composure and poise with the puck .. angles guys very well one-on-one and does not overcommit .. fast attackers rarely beat him to the outside .. recovered with only two full strides on a streaking Justin Donati and eliminated a potential scoring play by taking the body .. should have been on the American World Junior roster.
Bobby Ryan (Ana), RW, Owen Sound
Big, rangy playmaker with calm, elite-level hands that just suck defenders out of position .. very poised with the puck down low and at open ice .. shifty with a long reach; commands respect .. uncanny one-on-one tricks; went inside-out on Ryan Wilson, only to be foiled by Justin Peters.
Marcus Carroll (2007), C Owen Sound
One of only two 89-born players on the Attack .. small, aggressive player is the son of Billy Carroll, who played for the Cup-winning Islander teams .. despite the size issue he plays big and with lots of heart .. excellent confidence with the puck; does not always make the best play but he shows a good head for the game that still needs to develop .. offensive weapons are mostly raw; passes were off the mark, though spirited play and willingness to charge the net are impressive .. skates low to the ice, generating speed through his torso that furiously sways side-to-side.
Justin Donati (2006), C, St.Mike's
In his last year of draft eligibility but is making a case, sitting seventh in league scoring .. capable skills, goal scorer's touch, keen eye for the developing play .. impressive hand-eye coordination .. strength and savvy along the boards .. good shot, shows patience and nifty hesitation moves .. strong on his skates and stickhandles well in tight spaces .. has made strides defensively, with conscious man-on-man play.
Cory Vitarelli (FA), RW, St.Mike's
Overager provides clutch scoring and leadership .. good hands with decent feet .. very good at positioning himself smartly into scoring areas and battles through checks to gain shooting lanes .. drives hard towards the net.
Ryan Wilson (2006), D, St.Mike's
His game has really gone sour after some early promise .. wildly inconsistent and unpredictable from shift to shift .. poor decision making, loses focus often and gives up early .. his physical attributes but does not initiate contact with his body .. lacks offensive imagination and his first step is slow .. good shot but does not always get it quickly enough to get it through traffic.
Justin Peters (Car), G, St.Mike's
Decent prospect at best but has worked hard this season .. still prone to letting in bad goals on occasion .. acrobatic with quick feet in butterfly .. challenges shooters, readily coming out three to four feet outside his crease .. tough and aggressive when guys enter his territory .. exceptional puck handling skills may be the best in the league .. takes advantage of smaller home rink dimensions to place perfect passes .. still has a lot of work to do in order to solidify his fundamentals.
Justin DiBenedetto (2006), C, St.Mike's
Came into junior as a highly touted name but has failed to live up to expectations .. should be producing more on the line with Larsh and Tyler Donati .. sluggish skater with basically no first step quickness .. decent cycle game, as he has a sturdy frame but lacks hand quickness to be truly effective in corner battles.
