OHL: Dennis the Menace

The London Knights eliminated the Kitchener Rangers in five games and are one step closer to the Memorial Cup. Adam Dennis provided sensational goaltending throughout the series and showed why he is capable of assuming full time starting goaltending duties. In the other net, Eric Pfligler did an admirable job replacing the injured Dan Turple and was a large reason the Rangers were able to advance as far as they did. We also take a final look at Kitchener's leading regular season scorer Evan McGrath and the tough play of London Knight winger Brandon Prust.

Has not lost a game in the playoffs thus far, allowing only 11 goals in 8 games.. good skater with quick post-to-post moves .. great instincts and reads plays well .. was relied upon heavily during the entire series against a ton of Kitchener power plays .. constantly shutting the door down on 3-on-5 opportunities .. even when facing multiple chances he did not panic .. makes the most of his generous size, squaring himself to the shooter and making him look bigger than he actually is .. plays well out of the top of his crease with his aggressiveness and patience often making shooters commit first .. stopped a penalty shot by Acevedo in Game 5 by forcing him to the outside and not even allowing him to register a shot on goal .. does not play the puck often as his defensemen support him well .. split the duties in the first two rounds with Gerald Coleman, but took over in the Kitchener series as number one goalie, meaning he should see the remaining action in the OHL Finals and the Memorial Cup.
Brandon Prust (Cgy), LW, London Knights
Aggressive winger who plays much bigger than he is .. emotional leader who makes timely hits or engages in fights to inspire both teammates and fans alike .. charges the net and is hard to stop once he gets his feet moving .. kills penalties .. works well in the corners as his size and strength on skates enable him to dig out pucks .. competes hard and will do whatever he can to contribute to the success of the team .. speed and skating technique must be addressed to be successful at the next level .. great open ice hitter .. hits extremely hard frequently, catching opponents with their heads down .. received a three game suspension for laying out Matt Lashoff with a clean hit that was deemed intent to injure by the league.
Evan McGrath (Det), C, Kitchener Rangers
Produced best regular season and playoff point totals this season .. quietly notched 13 points in 15 playoff games .. feisty and aggressive and will battle for his ice .. decent acceleration and nice cuts into the offensive zone .. soft hands coupled with a timely release .. at times looked out of place in the offensive zone as Knight defensemen took away the open ice that McGrath was used to having all season .. defensive zone work and his play without the puck needs upgrading.
Eric Pfligler (free agent), G, Kitchener Rangers
Small but quick goalie .. plays deep in his net which makes him look smaller than he really is .. very athletic and relies heavily on his reflexes .. tends to make easy saves look more difficult than they should be .. does not give up on the puck and can often be found on his belly or back to make a save .. surrendered somewhat weak goals in opening minutes of games, constantly putting his team behind .. puck-handling is sub-par .. provided Kitchener with great goaltending in the first two rounds but seemed overwhelmed at times with the offensive charge of the Knights, especially on the PP where he faced a barrage of shots.
